And the men of Israel went out from Mizpah and pursued the Philistines and struck them, as far as below Beth-car. Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen and called its name Ebenezer; for he said, “Till now the LORD has helped us.” – 1 Samuel 7:11-12 ESV

Samuel took an Ebenezer stone; a Stone of Help. But it wasn’t the STONE that helped it was GOD, our Father, who helped, and HAS ALWAYS helped- even when WE GET LOST in our victimhood, and self-glorification. This is a stone of Remembrance, it is RE-MEMBERING what GOD HAS done for us in the past. We must REMIND ourselves constantly of what God has done, because we have short term memory when it comes to the CARE from GOD. For this reason, the SHEMA of Dt 6:4-9 became ‘AS LAW’ to the Jews.

Leader, this was also a stone of Recognition. Recognizing that God is here now and God will be here tomorrow. Hebrews 13:5 in the AMP Bible says; for He has said, “I will never [under any circumstances] desert you [nor give you up nor leave you without support, nor will I in any degree leave you helpless], nor will I forsake or let you down or relax My hold on you [assuredly not]!” If you are a child of God then nothing can happen to you without HIS permission!

Conduit, either you believe GOD IS GOOD, or you don’t! So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him. (Matt 7:11) ‘Till now, up to this point, THUS FAR, HITHERTO- the LORD has HELPED US, guided us; For I am confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will continue to perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus. Phil 1:6 Why would YOU abandon HIM now? Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding!
