Then Moses called all the elders of Israel and said to them, “Go and select lambs for yourselves according to your clans, and kill the Passover lamb. Take a bunch of hyssop and dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and touch the lintel and the two doorposts with the blood that is in the basin. None of you shall go out of the door of his house until the morning. For the Lord will pass through to strike the Egyptians, and when he sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, the Lord will pass over the door and will not allow the destroyer to enter your houses to strike you. You shall observe this rite as a statute for you and for your sons forever. And when you come to the land that the Lord will give you, as he has promised, you shall keep this service. And when your children say to you, ‘What do you mean by this service?’you shall say, ‘It is the sacrifice of the Lord’s Passover, for he passed over the houses of the people of Israel in Egypt, when he struck the Egyptians but spared our houses.’” And the people bowed their heads and worshiped. – Exodus 12:21-27 ESV

Warrior;

Judaism and Christianity.  One is the beginning of the other, and one is the fulfillment of the other.  Know then that it is those of faith who are the sons of Abraham. And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, “In you shall all the nations be blessed.” So then, those who are of faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith. so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promised Spirit through faith. (Galatians 3:7-9,14) If we are going to be used by God in these end times, it would behoove us to understand and even partake in the Feasts of our Jewish brothers and sisters, since it is also our Past, and it is about our future. The Passover seder is one of 7 appointed Feasts that God required of His People. These Appointed Times are for a Remembrance of what God has done, as well as a foreshadowing of what He has yet to do but has promised HE WILL DO! A couple of Hebrew words and their English meaning; Seder is order, and Haggadah means telling- it is a written guide to the Passover Order. It is all about celebrating the Israelites exodus from Egypt. Although modern Haggadot (the plural of Haggadah) can vary widely, the tradition of reading a book to guide the seder dates back to the Middle Ages, and some of the elements that make up contemporary Haggadot were used 2,000 years ago. According to Jewish practice, reading the Haggadah at the Seder table is a fulfillment of the mitzvah ( a precept or commandment)  to each Jew to tell their children the story from the Book of Exodus about God bringing the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt, with a strong hand and an outstretched arm.

Leader, we must remember shadow and substance.  The Bible is full of shadows of things to come, and they always point to the REAL SUBSTANCE. God understands His creature man, for He is our maker of heaven and earth! Yahweh and the devil understand the role that confusion plays in a saint’s life. Confusion is the #1 weapon formed against us.  When we are confused, we don’t speak up, step out, ACT up, or sit down. We are easily distracted; shiny object, squirrel…. For this reason, Father God is always reminding us, and commanding us to REMEMBER.  Warriors, leaders, Conduits REMEMBER THE RIGHT THINGS! The greatest commandment through the 1189 chapters in the Bible is to REMEMBER- the right things.  When David slew the goliath from Gad, he was successful because he remembered. David remembered that His God delivered Him from the lion and the bear, and he remembered that His God is Mightier than any Philistine, no matter how big. (1 Samuel 17) With the struggles of life, we need to be reminded of how God has delivered us in the past and He will deliver us from our current struggles.  We need to be REMINDED that life is hard, but we have a Savior who lightens our load, and who carries our burdens. We need to be reminded that our GOD SAVES!  We need to be reminded that our GOD HAS DELIVERED US FROM SLAVERY TO SIN, to FREEDOM IN CHRIST. We have GRACE, unmerited favor, and Mercy, no longer due to receive the punishment for our sins. IF we remember the Mercy and the Grace of our Lord and Savior-That should be enough! Dayenu (“It Would Have Been Enough”) is a song traditionally sung during the telling of the story of Exodus at the Passover seder. The song’s stanzas list a series of kindnesses God performed for the Jewish people during and after the Exodus and concludes each with the word dayenu — “it would have been enough.”

Conduit, in the Bible Egypt is representative of the World. “If He had taken us out of Egypt and not made judgments on them; it would have been enough for us. If He had made judgments on them and had not made judgements on their gods; it would have been enough for us. If He had split the Sea for us and had not taken us through it on dry land; it would have been enough for us. If He had supplied our needs in the wilderness for forty years and had not fed us the manna; it would have been enough for us”. Can you look at your life and see the unmerited favor and say, IT IS ENOUGH? Hear the Word of the Lord; God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and death shall be no more, neither shall there be anguish (sorrow and mourning) nor grief nor pain any more, for the old conditions and the former order of things have passed away. (Revelation 21:4) During the Passover children ask four questions, which serve as a springboard for the story of the Jewish EXODUS to be retold in detail. This question-and-answer session forms the stage of the Seder known as Magid (“tell”). These four questions are often known by their opening words, Ma Nishtana (“what is different”). What makes this night different from all other nights? 1) On all nights we need not dip even once, on this night we do so twice. 2) On all nights we eat chametz or matzah, and on this night only matzah. 3) On all nights we eat any kind of vegetables, and on this night maror. 4) On all nights we eat sitting upright or reclining, and on this night we all recline. The four questions come down to BONDAGE and FREEDOM. The paragraph in the Haggadah which immediately follows the Four Questions contains the response to the four questions. We were slaves to Pharaoh in Egypt, and the Lord, our God, took us out from there with a strong hand and with an outstretched arm! The four questions are a way to elucidate the transition from Slavery to Freedom that God did for the JEWS and that HE DID for all who call on HIS NAME! This is the reason for all the “strange” practices referenced in the questions. Each one of these practices is symbolic of God’s gift of taking them from slavery to freedom. Celebrating the Passover Seder is about remembering WHO’S WE ARE! The Greatest commandment in the Bible is to REMEMBER. God knows: Our world will distract us; we will be lulled into believing the temporal world is why we were created. Our God wants us to remember WHO we are, WHY we are here, BUT most importantly WHO’S WE ARE! In Jesus you have been given FREEDOM from the BONDAGE OF EGYPT! We were slaves to Pharaoh in Egypt, and the Lord, our God, took us out from there with a strong hand and with an outstretched arm. Amen!
