Happy New Year.  The TIME IS NOW to decide is that a greeting, or is that a commitment?

We live in interesting times; I believe these are times like we have never seen before.  And in these opportune times, we get to CHOOSE.  Choice is an interesting proposition.  For choice to have any power it must have consequence.  Without Consequence choice is just a spinning wheel, a game of guesses, and ‘what ifs’. It is IN Consequence that CHOICE has as its allure, and its threat.  

How we think dictates how we act.  So, we must be aware of our thinking.  If we want to change our lives, we must first change our thinking.  How we THINK about the times we are in, dictates how we ACT IN the times we are in.  What I am realizing more and more is that there is this combustible combination of Environment, Behavior, and Identity.  The Flammable or Combustible ingredient is our THINKING. 

In searching the Internet, I found the Fire Triangle.  In order to understand how fire extinguishers work, you first need to know a little bit about fire. Four things must be present at the same time in order to produce fire:  Enough oxygen to sustain combustion, enough heat to raise the material to its ignition temperature, some sort of fuel or combustible material, and The chemical, exothermic reaction that is fire.

Our thinking is fuel, or combustible material- it can either cause a Chemical, exothermic reaction, or it can put out the fire by taking away one or more elements of the fire triangle/tetrahedron- or, worse yet, keep a fire from EVER IGNITING. This is the year that we decide to use our thinking in the most effective way possible, so that we can BECOME the Warrior willing to fight our GOOD FIGHT!
Oxygen, heat, and fuel are frequently referred to as the “fire triangle.” Add in the fourth element, the chemical reaction, and you actually have a fire “tetrahedron.” The important thing to remember is: take any of these four things away, and you will not have a fire or the fire will be extinguished. This is the Power, or POWERLESSNESS of our thinking.  You are either ON FIRE, or CHILLING!
Let’s RAISE THE LEVEL of our thinking! Let us ACT AS IF, this is a New Year, and treat it with the excitement that NEWNESS HAS! For Scott V. Black, everything is NEW.  In this NEWNESS I will commit to be an example of the WAY FORWARD, the WAY OF WARRIOR.  Let us take all our PEOPLE KNOWLEDGE and understanding and let us BUILD something great, something lasting!

We have updated our training.  Leadership Awakening has been updated to reflect the changes that I have been making over the last 12 years.  We have codified the changes in the Narrative and the focus in the class and made the outcomes more powerful, more lasting, and more transferrable.  IN addition to the Upgrade of Leadership Awakening, we have added a brand-new Communications class: Emotional Intelligence: Communicating with Power. This powerful new tool in a Warriors toolbox will allow for elevated connections, relationships and understanding.

This New Year has New Opportunities.  We are excited to be able to walk this journey with you and make this new year SIGNIFICANT. January 18^th, we start our New Journey.  It will be our first class under the Umbrella of Way of Warrior.  Come to graduation and be fed.  Be inspired, be HOPEFUL and be aware that we have been created for such a time as this!

Communication is the foundation for all relationships in our personal and professional lives. We simply cannot be persuasive, manage well, lead others, effectively participate in teams or build strong relationships if we can’t communicate effectively.

This is one of my favorite classes to teach because I get to share the tools in the toolbox that I use as I help people overcome and be all they think they can be!
