Can two walk together without agreeing where to go? Does a lion roar in the forest when he has no prey? Does a young lion growl in his den if he has caught nothing? Does a bird land in a snare where no bait has been set? Does a trap spring from the ground when it has nothing to catch? If a ram’s horn sounds in a city, do the people not tremble? If calamity comes to a city, has not the LORD caused it? Surely the Lord GOD does nothing without revealing His plan to His servants the prophets. The lion has roared—who will not fear? What a litany of statements. These are all CAUSE-and-EFFECT statements, natural laws- the WAY THINGS WORK: IF ‘A’ THEN ‘B’. If you put your hand into fire, you WILL GET BURNED. God has always forewarned us, He wants to make sure that people know that CHOICES have CONSEQUENCES and God wants none to perish. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Pet 3:9) God has a plan and He has YOUR PLAN. He promises us, HE HAS THIS, we just need to have FAITH. Faith has consequences, it allows us to be all that God has intended for us to be! “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do”. (Jeremiah 29:11, Ephesians 2:10) Believing God’s WORD is called Faith! Without Faith it is impossible to please God. The Consequences of FAITH, pays huge dividends in the Kingdom of God and allow us to be used for God’s purpose NOW!
Leader, right before 2 Peter 3:9 is 3:8; “But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day” God IS ON HIS THRONE, and He is telling, those who have ears to hear; I have told you these things before they happen so that when they do happen, you will believe. (John 14:29) God has always told people: choices have consequences and there will be JUDGEMENT. “Behold, I, even I am bringing the flood of water upon the earth, to destroy all flesh in which is the breath of life, from under heaven; everything that is on the earth shall perish. But I will establish My covenant with you; and you shall enter the ark—you and your sons and your wife, and your sons’ wives with you.”( Genesis 6:17-18) Noah built the arc in THE DESERT and It had NEVER RAINED until; When Noah was 600 years old, on the seventeenth day of the second month, all the underground waters erupted from the earth, and the rain fell in mighty torrents from the sky. The rain continued to fall for forty days and forty nights. That very day Noah had gone into the boat with his wife and his sons—Shem, Ham, and Japheth—and their wives. (Genesis 7:11-13)
Conduit: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. (John 1:1-5) From the BEGINNING God has had a plan for redeeming mankind: He communicates this PLAN IN HIS WORD, through HIS WORD: Jesus, WHO IS the WORD OF GOD. God wrote a LOVE LETTER, a BOOK OF GUIDANCE, a CHEATSHEET, and then HE SENT HIS SON, so that NONE SHALL PERISH. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16) Jesus came NOT JUST TO Glorify HIS LORD and cement HIS WORD in our HISTORY, but He came to redeem us, to RECONCILE us back to GOD. He came to make us BROTHERS and SISTERS, FRIENDS, CO-WORKERS in the KINGDOM OF GOD. Time is running short, the world is in BIRTHING PANGS. Something NEW is happening, but you need to know. The only way to KNOW is to KNOW HIM and we do that through HIS WARNINGS, HIS WORD. No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you. (John 15:15) “I don’t have much more time to talk to you, because the ruler of this world approaches. He has no power over me, but I will do what the Father requires of me, so that the world will know that I love the Father. Come, let’s be going.” (John 14:30,31) People get ready, there is a TRAIN A COMIN’- read about it, be prepared for it! Amen!
