That evening Jesus’ disciples went down to the shore to wait for him. But as darkness fell and Jesus still hadn’t come back, they got into the boat and headed across the lake toward Capernaum. Soon a gale swept down upon them, and the sea grew very rough. They had rowed three or four miles when suddenly they saw Jesus walking on the water toward the boat. They were terrified, but he called out to them, “Don’t be afraid. I am here!” Then they were eager to let him in the boat, and immediately they arrived at their destination! – John 6:16-21 NLT

When you are a child of the Risen Lord, then FEAR is nothing more than an acronym; False Evidence Appearing Real. The great deceiver, is playing us! The only power fear has is the power we give it. Fear is created by our focus! The boy king David, taught us to keep our focus on our Jehovah, not our Goliath! See 1 Samuel 17. When we focus on our ‘Giant’, on our ‘dilemma’, instead of our God – we FEAR! It is FALSE Evidence APPEARING Real. There are approximately 365 times in the Bible where God tells us to FEAR NOT, DO NOT FEAR…for I AM with YOU! We must get our gaze upon our God!
Leader, God knows this is one of the enemies weapons formed against us. The devil is the sinister minister of FEAR! We must trust that our God is bigger than that which torments us! We must create a Mantra comprised of God’s WORD, to RE-MIND ourselves in times of turbulence; Greater is He who is in me than He who is in the world(1 John 4:4), in my weakness His strength is perfected(2 Cor 12:9), I must decrease so He can increase! (John 3:30) Hear the Word of the Lord: Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. (Isaiah 41:10)
Conduit, Fear is the opposite of Faith! 2 Tim 1:7 AMP REMINDS US; For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control]. In the Word, God gives us a more numerous command, than to NOT FEAR, and it is to REMEMBER. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits. (Psalm103:2) To remember, is to put things back together. It is to Re-Mind, to Re-collect- it’s an active choice. RE-MEMBER who you are in Christ Jesus! Be hopeful and REMEMBER His promise: “Behold, I AM coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay each one for what he has done”. (Revelation 22:12) Get your mind right. Set your gaze above, look up- focus on Him! We’re almost home- have FAITH and FOCUS!
