Way of The Warrior- A Daily Devotional

The LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the LORD regretted that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart. So the LORD said, “I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens, for I am sorry that I have made them.” But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD.- Genesis 6:5-8 ESV

Warrior;

Have you considered lately the gulf between Yahweh and man? We need to remember who our God is. It is written: LORD, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth! You have set Your glory above the heavens. From the mouths of children and infants You have ordained praise on account of Your adversaries, to silence the enemy and avenger. When I behold Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have set in place—what is man that You are mindful of him, or the son of man that You care for him? You made him a little lower than the angels; You crowned him with glory and honor. You made him ruler of the works of Your hands; You have placed everything under his feet: all sheep and oxen, and even the beasts of the field, the birds of the air and the fish of the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas. O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth! – Psalms 8 What is man that you are mindful of him? What a powerful and accurate question. We are an object of God’s desire because He chose us. God doesn’t love us because of who we are, God loves us because of who He is, His character. His character never changes, even when our behavior, and our passions do.

Leader, the Bible is a little under 1200 chapters. It has 66 books, by 44 authors and at the least, covers a time frame of 1500 years, but tells the story of a millennium into the future. Within the first 12 chapters of the first book of Genesis God shows us the CHASM between God and man. Consider God did ALL OF CREATION in 1.5 chapters, yet 3 chapters in, God kicked man out of His dwelling place, his home. Hear the Word of the Lord; Then the LORD God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of us in knowing good and evil. Now, lest he reach out his hand and take also of the tree of life and eat, and live forever—” therefore the LORD God sent him out from the garden of Eden to work the ground from which he was taken. He drove out the man, and at the east of the garden of Eden he placed the cherubim and a flaming sword that turned every way to guard the way to the tree of life. (Genesis 3:22-24) Then, 3 chapters later, as read above, God regretted creating man, God destroys the World and all of mankind, BUT NOAH and his family of 7. Then God starts over in chapter 9, with the Righteous Noah and family. Hear the Word of the Lord; And God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth. The fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth and upon every bird of the heavens, upon everything that creeps on the ground and all the fish of the sea. Into your hand they are delivered. Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. And as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything. But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood. And for your lifeblood I will require a reckoning: from every beast I will require it and from man. From his fellow man I will require a reckoning for the life of man. “Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed, for God made man in his own image. (Genesis 9:1-6)

Conduit, one would think after all the chaos of the first 9 chapters of the Bible, that things would settle down and Man will walk with, and honor Yahweh, Jehovah, the Great I AM. However, just 2 chapters after the NEW RE- BEGINNING, man pushes God again and this time in His disappointment, God disinherits the nations at the Tower of Babel. It is written: Now the whole earth had one language and the same words. And as people migrated from the east, they found a plain in the land of Shinar and settled there. And they said to one another, “Come, let us make bricks, and burn them thoroughly.” And they had brick for stone, and bitumen for mortar. Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city and a tower with its top in the heavens, and let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be dispersed over the face of the whole earth.” And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of man had built. And the LORD said, “Behold, they are one people, and they have all one language, and this is only the beginning of what they will do. And nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for them. Come, let us go down and there confuse their language, so that they may not understand one another’s speech.” So the LORD dispersed them from there over the face of all the earth, and they left off building the city. Therefore its name was called Babel, because there the LORD confused the language of all the earth. And from there the LORD dispersed them over the face of all the earth. (Genesis 11:1-9) When the High God gave the nations their stake, gave them their place on Earth, He put each of the peoples within boundaries under the care of divine guardians. But God himself took charge of his people, took Jacob on as his personal concern. (Deuteronomy 32:8-9) In this book of 1200 chapters, just 11 Chapters in, God disinherits the nations at the tower of Babel and puts lesser elohim in charge of the Nations and calls out Abraham from Babylon to be God’s chosen, a Holy Nation! If the God of the universe struggles with Man, then of course, man is going to struggle with man. We must remember God LOVES US, because of who HE IS, not because of WHO WE ARE! God never changes, even when we do! God never breaks His commitments, nor does He make a PROMISE that He WILL NOT fulfill! God cannot LIE, He cannot BREAK HIS WORD and HE CANNOT CEASE BEING LOVE! Today BE LOVED BY GOD, and BE LOVE to HIS PEOPLE! For God so loved the world, HE DID SOMETHING ABOUT IT! Today COMMIT: For you so love God that you LOVE HIS PEOPLE! Of course, they\we don’t deserve it! Do it because GOD LOVED FIRST and commanded us to LOVE LIKE HIM! Today go out and VERB somebody, like Yahweh!
