No weapon formed against you shall prosper- Isaiah 54:17a BSB

The Bible is not made in a way that you can take a verse out of the Bible and apply your own meaning to it, yet that is what most do. I once heard a theologian say that if you know the Bible well enough, you can find a verse to justify anything you want to do.  People like David Koresh, James Jones and the KKK, as well as Jeremiah Wright, Raphael Warnock, and Black Liberation Theology have proven that surface knowledge of scripture can be used to justify ungodly, and non-Christian morals, actions, votes and values.  Therefore, it is important not only to know what the WORD says, but who the specific verses were said to, and what they meant to the original recipients.  This partial verse above is quoted by many good willed, good intentioned believers, without full knowledge of the entire context.  The book of Isaiah was written between 600 and 700 years before the incarnation of Jesus.  Isaiah is a book of prophecy.  There is so much prophesy about Jesus the Christ, and it was written over 600 years before Jesus walked in the flesh on earth. Due to the accuracy of Isaiah’s prophecy, there are liberal theologians who believe in multiple writers of the book.  They believe that the book was written by up to 3 different people over a long-time span.  Why was this belief created? The critics believe that there is no way that this was written by one man, because of the incredible accuracy of Isaiah’s prophecies, over such a vast time frame.  Turn to Isaiah 53, read about what Isaiah prophesied about the Messiah, about 600 years before His incarnation.

Leader, Isaiah 54 is also a prophecy, a prophecy that is still sometime in the future, a vision Isaiah has that is of the New Jerusalem, after the millennial rule. This is 7 years after the church has been raptured, plus 1000 years in the millennial reign. This is 1007 + years into the future from today. In the Context of today’s verse, there is much more information available. It says God is creating the destroyer and He is using the pagan as an instrument of JUDGEMENT to be used in His hands, for His glory. Let’s read today’s verse in full context of how it was delivered. It is written: If anyone attacks you, it is not from Me; whoever assails you will fall before you. Behold, I have created the craftsman who fans the coals into flame and forges a weapon fit for its task; and I have created the destroyer to wreak havoc. No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their vindication is from Me,” declares the LORD. (Isaiah 54:15-17) Did you get that? God has created the destroyer to wreak havoc. There WILL BE weapons formed against us. What God promises us, is that NO WEAPON formed against us will prosper! In other words, there will be struggles, In the struggles Glory is given to God or to the Devil! God is allowing for the chaos, for the destroyer- He has reasons which we know not. Remember Jesus Himself told us to beware of the destroyer. It is written “I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.] (John 16:33 Amplified Bible) This is where our Faith comes in. This is where our Faith is built, it is grown, where the roots are established to STAND FIRM! It is in the struggles, it is in the unfairness, it is in the unjustness of this world- that our true religion is illuminated. “You can tell a man’s religion in times of despair”. This is what James meant when He said, “Faith without works is dead”. It is FAITH that allows us to overcome, and it is understanding the Battle that allows us to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and hit it again. It is written, “For though a righteous man may fall seven times, he still gets up; but the wicked stumble in bad times”. (Proverbs 24:16)

Conduit, Jesus was NOT known as the Man of fun, the Man of Happiness, or the Man of many followers. Jesus was prophesied by Isaiah 0ver 600 years before His incarnation as the MAN OF SORROWS! If your goal is to be happy in this life- you are MISSING THE MARK! Hear the Word of the Lord; He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, acquainted with grief. Like one from whom men hide their faces, He was despised, and we esteemed Him not. Surely He took on our infirmities and carried our sorrows; yet we considered Him stricken by God, struck down and afflicted. He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. (Isaiah 53:3-5) God is in control. Jesus is\was NOT a VICTIM; He is a WILLING SAVIOR. We need to be like Jesus. His first miracle was turning water into wine- and even IN THE BEGINNING, He knew what TIME IT WAS! It is written; On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there, and Jesus and His disciples had also been invited to the wedding. When the wine ran out, Jesus’ mother said to Him, “They have no more wine. ” Woman, why does this concern us?” Jesus replied. “My hour has not yet come.” (John 2:1-4) Jesus was NOT a victim, He willingly allowed the arrest, abuse, mocking and crucifixion and it was done on His schedule, and by HIS WILL. Just like Jesus was not a victim– as a child of the king, with unmerited favor and mercy- His followers might be victimized, but we CANNOT claim victim status either! It was LOVE that held Jesus on the cross, not the massive nails\spikes in his hands and feet! God, through His permissive will, allows for certain people to be used for correction and for direction for His children. Consider that God used one of the greatest leaders in Babylon, just as He uses you and I, for His will and for HIs work. Hear the Word of the Lord; “And now have I given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant; and the beasts of the field have I given him also to serve him”. (Jeremiah 27:6) Today is about understanding that GOD IS IN CONTROL! Nothing will happen to you outside of the permissive will of the Father. Today, decide, no matter what happens you will give glory to Jehovah, Yahweh…Daddy, and not to our enemy, the god of this world, the prince of the power of the air- Beelzebub! NO WEAPON FORMED against you will prosper- but if you are a child of God—THEY WILL BE FORMED, have FAITH and know that GOD is in CONTROL!
