That evening Jesus’ disciples went down to the shore to wait for him. But as darkness fell and Jesus still hadn’t come back, they got into the boat and headed across the lake toward Capernaum. Soon a gale swept down upon them, and the sea grew very rough. They had rowed three or four miles when suddenly they saw Jesus walking on the water toward the boat. They were terrified, but he called out to them, “Don’t be afraid. I am here!” Then they were eager to let him in the boat, and immediately they arrived at their destination! – John 6:16-21 NLT
Warrior;
When you are a child of the Risen Lord, then FEAR is nothing more than an acronym; False Evidence Appearing Real. The only power fear has is when we take our eyes and focus off of God and put it on that which we fear! There are approximately 365 times in the Bible where God tells us to FEAR NOT, DO NOT FEAR…for I AM with YOU! Our Creator, who knows our frame, who stitched us together in the womb, the One who sees the beginning and the end commands us to FEAR NOT. This is arguably the 2nd most repeated command.
Leader, God knows this is one of the enemies weapons formed against us. All manufacturers understand their product better than anyone else. God knows how debilitating fear is to our faith and our future. The Spirit of fear is from the enemy, the World and the flesh. Deception is our enemies tool, and the devil is the sinister minister of FEAR! He uses, false evidence appearing real as one of his greatest wiles. We must remember that our God is bigger than that which torments us! We must create a Mantra comprised of God’s WORD, to RE-MIND ourselves in times of turbulence; Greater is He who is in me than He who is in the world(1 John 4:4), in my weakness His strength is perfected(2 Cor 12:9), I must decrease so He can increase! (John 3:30) We must remember who He is, what He promises us, who we are in His power.
Conduit, Fear is the opposite of Faith! 2 Tim 1:7 AMP REMINDS US; For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control]. This is why it is posited that the most commanded activity by Abba Father is, REMEMBER! The Bible is given to us to give us understanding and hope. The Word is given so that we can make sense out of this senseless journey. The Good news is: “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)The two greatest commandments in the Bible have nothing to do with sex, drugs, or ‘Rock & Roll’! The 2 greatest commandments are : Remember and Do Not Fear. Just like the peace of God, comes after the Grace of God, so too does the overcoming of fear, follow the Remembering of who our God is! When we REMEMBER what God promised, what God has done, what God has written and who we are in Christ Jesus- we will NOT FEAR.
