Way of The Warrior- A Daily Devotional

In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. – 2 Corinthians 4:4-6 ESV

Warrior;
The god of this world; Satan. “And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience”. (Ephesians 2:1–2) Paul describes Satan first as a “prince” with power, because he has authentic power in the world (1 John 5:19). In the book of Revelation, Chapter 5 we hear John weeping as he is taking by the Spirit and shown things that “must take place after this.” Then I saw in the right hand of him who was seated on the throne a scroll written within and on the back, sealed with seven seals. And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the scroll and break its seals?” And no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll or to look into it, and I began to weep loudly because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or to look into it. And one of the elders said to me, “Weep no more; behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered, so that he can open the scroll and its seven seals.” (Revelation 5:1-5) What is the deed that no one, but the LAMB OF GOD, is worthy to unloose? It is the deed to planet earth. The deed that MAN, ADAM, had in the Garden of Eden, the deed to our planet, was handed over to Satan, for a time- see Genesis 3. That is why Jesus is called our REDEEMER.

Leader, to REDEEM something is to purchase it back, but it means so much more in the original languages of the Bible. Per Biblestudytools.com: In the Old Testament, redemption involves deliverance from bondage based on the payment of a price by a redeemer. The Hebrew root words used most often for the concept of redemption are pada, gaal and kapar. The verb pada is a legal term concerning the substitution required for the person or animal delivered. Pada is also used in relation to legislation with regard to the firstborn. The verb gaal, is a legal term for the deliverance of some person, property, or right to which one had a previous claim through family relation or possession. Goel, the participle of gaal, is the term for the person who performed the duties of “redeemer.” The meaning of the third verb, kapar , is to cover. To cover sin, atone, or make expiation are associated meanings. This all is what JESUS has done for us as our redeemer. The Book of Ruth is a picture of Jesus, one of the main characters- Boaz is a shadow of our Jesus, our KINSMAN REDEEMER. The kinsman-redeemer is a male relative who, according to various laws of the Old Testament, had the responsibility to act on behalf of a relative who was in trouble, danger, or need. The Hebrew term (go el) for kinsman-redeemer designates one who delivers or rescues (Genesis 48:16; Exodus 6:6) or redeems property or person (Leviticus 27:9–25, 25:47–55). Jesus is returning to RECLAIM what was HIS, but in our disobedience we gave to Satan. Even during Jesus Temptation in the desert by Satan as recounted in the books of Matthew and Luke chapters 4- the Devil tempted Jesus by telling Him if he would just bow down and worship him, then Satan would give Jesus the Kingdoms of this world- they were his to give!

Conduit, Then the devil led Him up to a high place and showed Him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world. “I will give You authority over all these kingdoms and all their glory,” he said. “For it has been relinquished to me, and I can give it to anyone I wish. So if You worship me, it will all be Yours.” (Luke 4:5-7. Christ is THE PERFECT example of a kinsman-redeemer because, as our brother (Hebrews 2:11), He redeems, and as the LAMB OF GOD, He is the only one that can! Notice there is only one thing in the way and that is the devil, the SPIRIT OF THE ANTI-CHRIST. Just as the devil TWISTED SCRIPTURE to the WORD HIMSELF (again see Luke 4 and Matthew 4), so too we live in the world that is run by the great deceiver, the Father of lies: Satan. We must remember the three main ways the devil gets us; For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world. (1 John 2:16) This is the devils kingdom and He is the Prince of the air, the prince of this world- and he shows up, not like a man in a ‘red suit, and a pitchfork- but in the form of well meaning, friendly helpers on this journey. See Peter’s attempt to keep Jesus off the cross in Mathew 16:23 and David’s desire to take an illegal census in 1 Chronicles 21:1. We must remember: For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12) The only one who gives the light of knowledge of the Glory of God in the FACE OF JESUS CHRIST is the HOLY SPIRIT. He is the discerner of the word, the illuminator of the truth and the tapper of the heart! And how do we get the HOLY SPIRIT? That is through a saving relationship with the SON, Jesus Christ! When you accept the paid price of the cross, then you get the HELPER, who helps you combat the lies of the Prince of this WORLD, until our PRINCE, our REDEEMER returns with his DEED OF REDEMPTION to claim what was HIS and given away in the Garden of EDEN! Make no mistake about it: He who testifies to these things says, “Yes, I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus! (Revelation 22:21) Please TARRY NOT, REDEEMER JESUS!
