Immediately after this, Jesus insisted that his disciples get back into the boat and cross to the other side of the lake, while he sent the people home. After sending them home, he went up into the hills by himself to pray. Night fell while he was there alone. It is a SHALLOW theology to believe that if you are in the WILL OF GOD, then nothing bad can happen to you. It is a false gospel to believe that if you are walking with God you will have no problems ,no sickness, no STORMS. Hear the Word of the Lord: Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. (Matthew 4:1) Jesus was led by The Holy Spirit to be tempted. Jesus was walking with God and was walked into a 40 day storm!
Leader, in today’s verse we can see that the Apostles were IN A STORM, because they were IN THE WILL of God. God has 2 types of storms; Correcting Storms and Perfecting storms. Jonah was in a correcting storm because he was outside of the will of God. Then the LORD sent a great wind on the sea, and such a violent storm arose that the ship threatened to break up. (Jonah 1:4) The disciples were in this storm because of the Providence of God, upon His command.
Conduit, One of the names of God is Jehovah Shalom, the God of Peace. Hear the Word of the Lord: So Gideon built an altar there to the Lord, and called it The-Lord-Is-Peace. To this day it is still in Ophrah of the Abiezrites. (Judges 6:24) Peace is not the subtraction of problems from life. Peace is the addition of God’s power to meet those problems. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Amen!
