Way of The Warrior- A Daily Devotional

So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions. But when you are directed by the Spirit, you are not under obligation to the law of Moses. When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God. – Galatians 5:16-21 NLT

Warrior;
There is a battle waging for your soul and it is in your head, your heart! We have 30,000- 60,000 thoughts per day and we BELIEVE what we tell ourselves over and over. The GOOD LORD put the eyes in the front of our face because we move in the direction we are LOOKING. We look in the direction we are MOVING! Ephesians 4:23 tells us to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, Romans 12:2 implores us; Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. We must get our MINDS RIGHT- Jesus is the WAY!

Leader, if you are NOT controlling what is going on your mind, then you are losing the battle to this world, to your flesh. For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. (Romans 8:5-7) To be victorious, we need a two-pronged attack! We must keep our mind on the things of GOD and we must think like Christ! Isaiah 26:3; You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. AND- Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. (Col 3:2)

Conduit, secondly, we must have the mind of Christ! I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Therefore, let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you. Nevertheless, to the degree that we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us be of the same mind. (Philippians 3:14-16) Even when it seemed like Peter was looking out for the LORD, JESUS rebuked Peter, because his MIND WAS NOT RIGHT! Matthew 16:23; But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.” If we are to BE LIKE CHRIST, we must THINK like Christ and be about our FATHERS BUSINESS and “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus”. The Battlefield is the mind- Jesus focused on God and the Kingdom of God while on this planet! He talked and focused on those two things most often! Comparatively, how is your battle going?
