Way of The Warrior- A Daily Devotional

What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.- James 2:14-17 ESV

Economy is defined as careful management of available resources. God has an economy! It is God’s PEOPLE, using God’s RESOURCES, for God’s PEOPLE, for GOD’S GLORY! If you are blessed it is so that you can BLESS OTHERS! God made a covenant with Abraham in Genesis 12, He told him; I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will BE A BLESSING! In proverbs 11:25 we are reminded of the GOLDEN RULE of blessing; The one who blesses others is abundantly blessed; those who help others are helped! This is why as followers of Christ we are to bless and pray for Israel; “Blessed is everyone who blesses you, O Israel, and cursed is everyone who curses you.” Numbers 24:9 Both are examples of the CONDUIT God has called us to be with HIS RESOURCES!

Leader, GIVING is a mind-set, an act of the heart. The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. (2 Cor 9:6-7) Some people get so focused on a figure- 10%, that they miss the purpose of GIVING! It is ALL GOD’s, everything we have is HIS, it came from HIM and it will go back to HIM! See Romans 11:36- For from him and through him and to him are all things. Giving shows FAITH, giving shows it’s GODS money, not yours- GIVING shows GRATITUDE; for GOD has blessed you and because of that you are held to a higher standard! We are told in Luke 12:48; When someone has been given much, much will be required in return; and when someone has been entrusted with much, even more will be required. Are you investing HIS stuff in things\people that are eternal, that don’t rust and get eaten away by the decay of this world? Treasures in Heaven; Matthew 6:19-21.

Conduit, there are many people who could use your PRAYERS, but the could also use your money, your overflow, your abundance and your mercy! Remember that LOVE OF MONEY is a root of ALL KINDS OF EVIL. “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”( Matthew 6:24) The MESSAGE BIBLE paraphrase puts it succinctly, 1 john 3:16-18: This is how we’ve come to understand and experience love: Christ sacrificed his life for us. This is why we ought to live sacrificially for our fellow believers, and not just be out for ourselves. If you see some brother or sister in need and have the means to do something about it but turn a cold shoulder and do nothing, what happens to God’s love? It disappears. And you made it disappear. My dear children, let’s not just talk about love; let’s practice real love. LOVE LIKE JESUS, for what you do for the LEAST in this WORLD, Jesus said you did for HIM! Today: See a NEED- MEET THAT NEED! NO SHARED GLORY!
