Who is more famous in your LIFE- who gets the PRESS for your success, your resources and your security: you or JESUS? One of the most-quoted resources about the world during Biblical times is the first-century historian Josephus. Eusebius, the first church historian, calls him “the most famous Jew of his time”. For two millennia Christian scholars have preserved and studied Josephus’s works, especially his account of the Jewish revolt (The Jewish War) and a complete history of God’s people from creation to the first century (Antiquities of the Jews). His historical recordings are used many times to support the Bible and its claims.
Leader, Josephus depicts John the Baptist as having a more powerful influence on the majority of the people of the time than did Jesus. Josephus’ description of John is more detailed than his account of Jesus- In Josephus’ world John the Baptist was more popular than Jesus. Consider your world- who gets more PRINT, you or Jesus? John knew His life was about JESUS, HIS entire purpose for living was to PREPARE THE WAY for JESUS! Who is your life about, who gets the GLORY for your gifts, your talents, your retirement, your home, your success…YOUR TIME and the ROI, the accolades?
Conduit, YOU MUST DECREASE, and CHRIST must INCREASE! A person cannot receive even one thing unless it is given to him from heaven! If you would never consider stealing God’s tithe, then why is it ok to steal HIS GLORY? Here is your SPIRITUAL thermometer, your JESUS METER: For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. Do you have a bucket list? Where you want to get a few experiences under your belt before God comes back, or are you begging Christ to TARRY NOT? Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. (Matt 5:16) JESUS HIMSELF said in John 15:8, “This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples”. GIVE JESUS the GLORY and the PRESS!
