It’s not what goes into your body that defiles you; you are defiled by what comes from your heart.” Food doesn’t go into your heart, but only passes through the stomach and then goes into the sewer.” (By saying this, he declared that every kind of food is acceptable in God’s eyes.) And then he added, “It is what comes from inside that defiles you. For from within, out of a person’s heart, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, envy, slander, pride, and foolishness. All these vile things come from within; they are what defile you.”- Mark 7:15,19-23 ESV
Warrior;
Matthew 12:34 tells about the connection between our hearts and our mouths: You brood of vipers! How can you speak good things, when you are evil? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. Jeremiah 17:9 tells us the condition of ‘The heart’: 9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? And when Jesus was called GOOD, as a human being Jesus questioned that sentiment: As Jesus was starting out on his way to Jerusalem, a man came running up to him, knelt down, and asked, “Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?” “Why do you call me good?” Jesus asked. “Only God is truly good. (Mark 10;17-18)
Leader, TRUE SPIRITUAL Success comes from the inside out. In order to change what is on the outside, you must first change what is on the inside. On the inside NOBODY is CLEAN, nobody is good until we get our insides RENOVATED, we get a NEW OCCUPANT! Instead of our OLD MAN, the old self we get a down payment of the HOLY SPIRIT, GOD IN US- because only GOD IS GOOD. Matthew’s REMEMBERING of the event mentioned by MARK is even more MARKED! And he said to him, “Why do you ask me about what is good? There is only one who is good.(Matthew 19:17) and Nahum 1:7 tells us who is good: The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; he knows those who take refuge in him.
Conduit, we live in a time of WOE! We are living in the last days, we are truly the terminal generation and how do we know that, because of what the “signs of the times” are. The prophet Isaiah told us what things will be like in the end: Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! (Isaiah 5:20) As a believer you should daily say, “Woe…” This is not your planet, if you are a child of GOD! Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. (John 3:3, 5) This is why the Psalmist begs: Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. And Solomon wrote in Proverbs 23: My son, give me your heart and let your eyes delight in my ways. We must Trust in the Lord with all our heart. Above all else guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. And we must remember: My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. (Psalm 73:26) Give the LORD YOUR HEART- your BODY and SOUL will follow! Amen!
