From the website GCI.org this commentary on the letter to the church at Laodicea: “Like the church at Sardis, Laodicea had been bitten by the bug of complacency. But this church was also spiritually arrogant in its self-satisfaction. It was the only church Christ did not commend for anything. Tragic, indeed! The church thought of itself as rich and in need of nothing from Christ. Although many of the members may have been materially rich, the “wealth” it claimed for itself would be spiritual. What is in view here is Laodicea’s spiritual pride and complacency. The members needed to buy true riches in the areas of life where they felt they had no lack. This is explained in metaphorical terms as gold refined in the fire (3:18). Christ is the refiner of the human soul, which he purifies as the refiner does gold (Malachi 3:3). What needed refining was Laodicea’s faith so that it would become genuine (1 Peter 1:7). This sounds like America and the church here in America. Complacent with the world in voting and acting with the Spirit of the Antichrist. As Franklin Graham stated in a Facebook post after the Georgia election debacle; “…We are in trouble. I believe God’s judgement is coming, for the sins of our nation are great and they are a stench in the nostrils of our Creator. There are 2 words for sin; one means to miss the mark and the other means to CROSS THE LINE! As a nation, our last election has shown us we have CROSSED OVER and moved so far away from God that the church does not even notice judgement is coming, or here now!
Leader, it’s time to move beyond the PMA of the prosperity preachers, the Joel Olsteins of the world, and get to the FULL GOSPEL of CHRIST! Judgement is coming to America. So know in your heart that just as a man disciplines his son, so the LORD your God disciplines you. But when we are judged by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be condemned with the world. (Deuteronomy 8:5,1 Cor 11:32) We seem to only want the soft Jesus, the Lamb of God, but we don’t want to see the other half of the Gospel, the Lion from the Tribe of Judah who has a 2-edged sword! Remember in John’s unveiling of Christ, we see the CONQUERING KING, the disciplining Leader, and he is NOT soft spoken and accepting ALL, NO MATTER WHAT; Therefore, keep in mind how far you have fallen. Repent and perform the deeds you did at first. But if you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place. (Revelation 2:5) The LORD replied to Moses, “Whoever has sinned against Me, I will blot out of My book. (Exodus 32:33) We hear the same thing about weak people who pretend to be followers of God. “They have eyes full of adultery, insatiable for sin. They entice unsteady souls. They have hearts trained in greed. Accursed children! Forsaking the right way, they have gone astray. They have followed the way of Balaam, the son of Beor, who loved gain from wrongdoing, but was rebuked for his own transgression; a speechless donkey spoke with human voice and restrained the prophet’s madness”. (2 Peter 2:14-16 )
Conduit, how many professing Christians voted for Godless candidates, who voted for people whose platform is loaded with the Spirit of the Anti-Christ? How many professing Christians, church leaders who vote with their flesh but speak flowery words of Spirituality? God says it makes HIM SICK and His patience is running out! Judgement is coming to America, the TIME IS NOW to repent and to get right with GOD and separate from the WAYS OF THE WORLD. Here is what Isaiah prophesied from God: “I’ve made myself available to those who haven’t bothered to ask. I’m here, ready to be found by those who haven’t bothered to look. I kept saying ‘I’m here, I’m right here’ to a nation that ignored me. I reached out day after day to a people who turned their backs on me, People who make wrong turns, who insist on doing things their own way. They get on my nerves, are rude to my face day after day, Make up their own kitchen religion, a potluck religious stew. They spend the night in tombs to get messages from the dead, Eat forbidden foods and drink a witch’s brew of potions and charms. They say, ‘Keep your distance. Don’t touch me. I’m holier than thou.’ These people gag me. I can’t stand their stench. Look at this! Their sins are all written out— I have the list before me. I’m not putting up with this any longer. I’ll pay them the wages They have coming for their sins. And for the sins of their parents lumped in, a bonus.” God says so. “Because they’ve practiced their blasphemous worship, mocking me at their hillside shrines, I’ll let loose the consequences and pay them in full for their actions.” (Isaiah 65:1-7 MSG paraphrase) As Peter said, there’s nothing to these people—they’re dried-up fountains, storm-scattered clouds, headed for a black hole in hell. They are loudmouths, full of hot air, but still they’re dangerous. Men and women who have recently escaped from a deviant life are most susceptible to their brand of seduction. They promise these newcomers freedom, but they themselves are slaves of corruption, for if they’re addicted to corruption—and they are—they’re enslaved. If they’ve escaped from the slum of sin by experiencing our Master and Savior, Jesus Christ, and then slid back into that same old life again, they’re worse than if they had never left. Better not to have started out on the straight road to God than to start out and then turn back, repudiating the experience and the holy command. They prove the point of the proverbs, “A dog goes back to its own vomit” and “A scrubbed-up pig heads for the mud.” (2 Peter 2:17-22 MSG) It is time to humble ourselves before the LORD and repent of our wicked thoughts, votes, will and way! God is calling us out!
