I will remember the deeds of the LORD; yes, I will remember your wonders of old. I will ponder all your work, and meditate on your mighty deeds. -Psalm 77:11-12 ESV
Warrior;
What do you do when things are dark, when helpless and hopeless are our lone mates? Where do you focus when walking God’s way seems to be sans God, when you look down and you only see one set of footprints in the SANDS OF YOUR PAST and wonder if those are yours by yourself, or God’s- for HE WAS carrying you! This psalm is titled “The Day of Trouble”, and it starts out; I cry out to God; yes, I shout. OH, that God would listen to me! When I was in deep trouble, I searched for the Lord. All night long I prayed, with hands lifted toward heaven, but my soul was not comforted.
Leader, ‘You can tell a man’s religion in time of despair’. The Proverb refers to knowing a man’s MAKEUP, by how they handle themselves in a crisis. In those troubling times, we are called to RE-MEMBER God; Who He is, and what He has already done HITHERTO. Paul tells us in Romans 12 to TRANSFORM our thinking, to NOT CONFORM to the patterns of this world. Because of this and our sinful past, we need to constantly be ‘scratching’ old CD’s (programming) and becoming the NEW Creation in Christ Jesus that we are- ‘in the blink of an eye’, when we accept the PAID PRICE for the forgiveness of our sins. So we use UP UNTIL NOW, to give ourselves permission to BEGIN ANEW!
Conduit, there are times in life where we don’t want to START OVER, we actually want to CONTINUE on the path that we are on, IF IT IS THE RIGHT PATH! When we REMIND ourselves of what GOD HAS DONE, UP UNTIL NOW, we can leave WORRY where God left our sin; as far as the EAST is from the WEST! When Abraham took Isaac to the altar he called God; Jehovah Jireh, which means the Lord Who will see to it that my every need is met. One who will see to our needs and provide for us. In Isaiah 1:24 God is called YAHWEH-SABAOTH, Lord of Hosts– Hosts means “hordes,” both of angels and of men. He is Lord of the host of heaven and of the inhabitants of the earth, of Jews and Gentiles, of rich and poor, master and slave. Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and then- let God be God!
