Keep It Simple Soldier. Depending on the translation, Jesus says, “Follow Me”, anywhere from 23-37 times in HIS WORD. Don’t make it confusing! The devils #1 weapon formed against us is confusion. He is the Father of confusion. God is the God of LIGHT. There are 2 worlds, one of Death and Darkness; Confusion. The other world is Light and LIFE; clarity. We can see clearly in the LIGHT, but the DARKNESS obfuscates our view. Jesus says; Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Jesus extended an invitation to follow, to every single kind of person imaginable — rich people, poor people, people who were spiritual, people who weren’t spiritual. He didn’t place a bunch of conditions on His offer. He just invited them to follow HIM. Not a set of rules, but a personal journey- WALK WITH ME!
Leader, God is NOT wrapped up in our happiness, He is concerned with our HOLINESS. 1 Peter 1:16 has God being succinct; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.” If you want to know what God says to do to make HIM and YOU happy, to be blessed see Matthew 5:3-11, they are part of the ‘Sermon on the Mount’ and are called the BEATITUDES. These are attitudes we are to BE, if we are to have the MIND OF CHRIST. God also tells us that we can tell what something is by its fruit: A good tree produces good fruit, and a bad tree produces bad fruit. A good tree can’t produce bad fruit, and a bad tree can’t produce good fruit. So every tree that does not produce good fruit is chopped down and thrown into the fire. Yes, just as you can identify a tree by its fruit, so you can identify people by their actions. (Matthew 7:17-20)
Conduit, man is a three-dimensional creature; Mind, Spirit and Body. The war that is waging is between which will rule the MIND; Flesh or Spirit? If we are following HIM, then we will have FRUIT of the SPIRIT; “… the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” (Galatians 5:22-23) For those who are NOT following God, but following the three BAD AMIGOS; Flesh, world, the devil- the will produce different fruit (works); When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God. (Galatians 5:19-21) Choose this day, Who will YOU FOLLOW? What is that coming out of your exhaust? WORKS or FRUIT?
