Way of The Warrior- A Daily Devotional

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be make known to God. And the peace that surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me-practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you. – Philippians 4:4-9 ESV

Warriors;
This is clear instruction, it is NOT as complicated as we want to make it! If we are children of the ‘Risen King’, then how can we be the VICTIM of anything? If we have been given the greatest, undeserved, unmerited favor; Adoption as Children of GOD- how can we claim to be a victim of anything except PRIVILEGE. God chose some, and others He didn’t; ‘Yet I have loved Jacob, but Esau I have hated, and I have turned his mountains into a wasteland and left his inheritance to the desert jackals.’ (Malachi 1:2-3)

Leader, God states unequivocally, “I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.” (Ex 33:19). So If we ARE HIS, then we are commanded to REJOICE, and be reasonable: gracious, fair, moderate, humble, considerate in all we do, and have a gentle spirit- IlN ALL THINGS, because our GOD IS IN CONTROL!

Conduit, He says, IN EVERYTHING, we are to be THANKFUL. He doesn’t tell us to be thankful FOR- but IN! He tells us; it is a FOCUS issue! We are to focus on GOD, HIS WORD and HIS KINGDOM- whatever is True, Honorable, Just, Pure, Lovely, Commendable, Excellent, things WORTHY OF PRAISE! Get your focus on GOD and what has HIS approval! Thanksgiving is NOT a HOLIDAY- it is THE WAY of FOCUS for a true believer, because the GOD of PEACE is with us! It is BEYOND our understanding, be thankful for the GIFT!
