This is a verse that many use all the time to say if AMERICA, or the WORLD would just get on God’s page, then He will bless us. Even though this is technically TRUE, it is NOT what this verse is saying. The subject of this verse is NOT THE WORLD, it is NOT AMERICA, it is HIS PEOPLE, who are called by HIS NAME! There is a SPIRITUALITY movement in America, but it is NEW AGE. Many “BELIEVERS” do not know the meaning of the term NEW AGE. The best definition I have heard is Spirituality without JESUS, the CHRIST. Many on this planet, will talk of GOD, but they are afraid to be CALLED by HIS NAME and talk about their LOVE, their LIFE, their LEADER: Jesus. “Everyone who acknowledges me publicly here on earth, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven”. (Matt 10:32)
Leader, if you are called CHRISTIAN, then you are a little CHRIST, follower of the WAY- “The Way” is mentioned several times in the book of Acts (Acts 9:2; 19:9, 23; 22:4; 24:14, 22) in connection with early followers of Christ. In the Gospel of John 14:6, Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”. Early Christians were called, “THE WAY”. JESUS is the WAY, and if you are following HIM, if you are wanting to emulate HIM, if you call on HIS NAME to be saved, and ONLY HIS NAME- you are HIS PEOPLE who are called by HIS NAME! This verse is saying, IF YOU AND I, will humble OURSELVES, turn form OUR WICKED WAYS, PRAY and seek HIS FACE- THEN GOD will HEAR, and GOD will HEAL! In other words, if you want REVIVAL in the LAND, then you must have REVIVAL in your HEAD and HEART and You and ME, not the WORLD- TURN, REPENT, things will change for GOOD and for GOD!
Conduit, there are many CONDITIONAL statements in the BIBLE, God is saying, IF-THEN! However, a conditional statement is FALSE if the hypothesis is true and the conclusion is false. “But if you turn aside and forsake my statutes and my commandments that I have set before you, and go and serve other gods and worship them, then I will pluck you up from my land that I have given you, and this house that I have consecrated for my name, I will cast out of my sight, and I will make it a proverb and a byword among all peoples. And at this house, which was exalted, everyone passing by will be astonished and say, ‘Why has the LORD done thus to this land and to this house?’ Then they will say, ‘Because they abandoned the LORD, the God of their fathers who brought them out of the land of Egypt, and laid hold on other gods and worshiped them and served them. Therefore, he has brought all this disaster on them.’” (2 Chron 7:19-22) Quit working to bring the world to GOD and ACT like CHRIST! We are never more like CHRIST than when we FORGIVE and LOVE! Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind’. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself’. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” (Matt 22:37-40) Today get on the WAY, be a LITTLE CHRIST and change your WORLD!
