Way of The Warrior- A Daily Devotional

When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, “It is finished,” and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. – John 19:30 ESV

Warrior;
What a refreshing word, a freeing WORD! IT IS FINISHED! Mathew Henry’s commentary says this about this passage: “…Especially observe the dying word wherewith Jesus breathed out his soul. It is finished; that is, the counsels of the Father concerning his sufferings were now fulfilled. It is finished; all the types and prophecies of the Old Testament, which pointed at the sufferings of the Messiah, were accomplished… It is finished; the work of man’s redemption and salvation is now completed.”

Leader, God has taken care of everything we need to be RIGHT with GOD! Jesus paid the price, ALL TO HIM WE OWE! Hebrews 12:2 tells us to fix our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. God did it all! GOD chose us, GOD made us RIGHTEOUS and GOD PREPARED the way for us to GET TO HIM, to KNOW HIM and to make Him known!

Conduit, when we truly understand the GIFT of SALVATION- THEN WE ACT differently, we are appreciative that a PERFECT God picked such imperfect creatures to call Sons and Daughters! For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And having chosen them, he called them to come to him. And having called them, he gave them right standing with himself. And having given them right standing, he gave them his glory. (Rom 8:29-30) We must QUIT working to be GOODNUFF for GOD, that is called RELIGION. OUR JESUS wants a relationship with HIS CHOSEN and HE created the PATTERN to achieve that relationship! WALK IN HIS WAY-stand in HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS! Amen!
