Warrior;
God’s MASTER PLAN is so well laid out. God is in control, there has never been an emergency meeting of the TRINITY. There is no need for God to change, God is immutable. He is not surprised, He is not taken “off-guard”, He is aware of all our choices, all our pain and all our thoughts and feelings. In order for a FATHER or a MOTHER to have influence on their children, they must communicate. God has had different ways of communicating to His children, depending on where we are at in the GROWTH CYCLE. We communicate differently to a newborn baby, then we do to a 3-year-old infant. We communicate differently to a 16-year-old teenager then we do to a 10-year-old adolescent. Just like the first act of our parents- conception, God too had to create- in the beginning. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Our first introduction to God in the Bible is as creator, just like our mother and Father. We see our Jewish brothers and sisters celebrate Shavuot, the giving of the law- where 3000 were killed. We Christians celebrate PENTECOST, which saw 3000 saved. Same day in history, connected in many ways.

Leader, we have just finished celebrating a special day in the relationship between God and His creation. For the Christian it is called Pentecost and for the Jew, Shavuot. Christianity is merely the continuation of the Jewish Faith, with a NEW\BETTER agreement. They are similar celebrations to both groups of believers who make up the Bible: The Jews, God’s chosen people and the Gentiles; NON-JEWS who have been engrafted into the family of God through Grace alone, by Faith alone, in Christ alone. This is the beauty of Jehovah, He has deep connections and meaning with what HE DID, WHEN HE DID IT, HOW HE DID IT, WHERE HE DID IT, and WHY HE DID IT. This is the beauty of the Bible and seeking to know the MYSTERY OF THE BIBLE. That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; (Colossians 2:2) There is no such thing as REPLACEMENT THEOLOGY. The church HAS NOT replaced the JEWS. God will keep HIS promises to the JEWS and to the GENTILES; we both play an important role in the work of the Father, the Son, and the HOLY SPIRIT. God had an original agreement and Law, the OLD TESTAMENT, and the LAW of MOSES. Then He gave us the BETTER COVENANT and law, the NEW TESTAMENT, and the LAW of GRACE. The Bible is intentional and relevant yesterday, today, and tomorrow. I want to suggest they are interconnected. Both events: happened 50 days after Passover and established a covenant, happened to newly redeemed people, occurred with a physical manifestation of God on a mountain, and had similar symbols: In both circumstances, there were voices, wind, fire, and smoke. The Hebrew word translated to thunder in Exodus is kolot, which means voices or languages.

Conduit: Shavuot is when God brought the LAW to His children. In the desert, during the great EXODUS, God had to start instructing His newborn nation, HIS PEOPLE on how to live a Holy life, so the LAW was introduced, so we could know RIGHT, by knowing what was wrong and not acceptable. Shavuot is recognized as the giving of divine knowledge from the LORD. “Then the Lord said to Moses, ‘Go to the people and consecrate them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their clothes. And let them be ready for the third day. For on the third day the Lord will come down upon Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people.’” (Exodus 19:10-11) Pentecost, is considered the beginning of the Church, the time when Gentiles were engrafted into the family of God. “When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” (Acts 2:1-4) The word Shavuot literally means weeks. It is named for the 7-week (50 day) after Passover. Pentecost is the festival at which Christians celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit, and it is celebrated on the 7th Sunday, 50 days after Resurrection Sunday. Pentecost is named after the Greek word pentekoste, meaning fiftieth. It was the ancient Greek term for Shavuot. Do not fall into the trap of believing that one covenant replaced the other. God’s intention was never for us to abandon our Jewish roots. As Christians, we are grafted into God the Father’s original family tree, as explained in Romans. For if the firstfruit is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is holy, so are the branches. And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree, do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you.” (Romans 11:16-18) God is working ALL THINGS for HIS GLORY and the good of those who LOVE HIM and are called according to HIS PURPOSE. In this time of pandemics, hate, riots and a world condoning it all- we must remember; GOD HAS THIS! Get closer to God and leave the hatred, the riots, the fear to those WHO DO NOT KNOW GOD and HIS message of REDEMPTION, FORGIVENESS and LOVE!
