For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. – Hebrews 4:12 ESV

Warrior;

In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He existed in the beginning with God. God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. He came into the very world he created, but the world didn’t recognize him. He came to his own people, and even they rejected him. But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God. (John 1:1-4, 10-13 NLT) “You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me” (John 5:39) The phrase “word of God” appears often in the Bible. In John, our passage for today, THE WORD OF GOD, is a title of the Lord Jesus. The term translated “Word” is logos, which basically means “the expression of a thought.” Logos is the total message of God to man, see also Thessalonians 2:13, Acts 11:1. Jesus embodied that total message, and that is why He is called the “Logos,” or “Word,” of God (Colossians 1:19; 2:9).

Leader, Another Greek word used for “word” is rhema. Rhema refers to the actual spoken/written words of God. It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word(rhema) of God and the powers of the coming age. (Hebrews 6:4-5). Again, during the temptation of Christ, Jesus answered, “Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word [rhema] that proceeds from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4). Gotquestions.org says, “The phrase “word of God” means more than the printed words on a page. God is a communicator and has been speaking into the human realm since the beginning. He speaks through His creation (Psalm 19:1), through ancient prophets (Hosea 12:10; Hebrews 1:1), through the Holy Spirit (John 16:13; Acts 16:6), through Scripture (Hebrews 4:12), and through the Person of His Son, Jesus Christ (John 14:9). We can learn to know God better by seeking to hear Him in every way that He speaks.” If we are to KNOW JESUS, then we must know THE WORD OF GOD! The Bible and Jesus are synonymous! Without the WORD of GOD we have NO JESUS! And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things? And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honor, save in his own country, and in his own house. And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief. (Matthew 13:56-58) Jesus could NOT do mighty works because they DIDN’T believe in HIM! The major reason no prophet is accepted in his/her hometown is familiarity. When Jesus began His ministry and His people heard about it, they accused Him of having gone mad, and acting on that belief, tried to take charge of Him as if He did not know what he was doing. Mark 3:21: And when his friends heard of it, they went out to lay hold on him: for they said, He is beside himself. And His family believed Him not. (John 7:5): For neither did his brethren believe in him. Also see Matthew 12:46-50.

Conduit, “Assuredly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they may utter; but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation” (Mark 3:28–29). Homosexuality, fornication, voting Democrat…ARE NOT unpardonable sins. The unpardonable sin is the sin of rejection. The unpardonable sin is defined as blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, because when Christ was on earth, the religious leaders were attributing his miracles to demonic powers when in fact they were the product of the Holy Spirit working in the life of Christ (Matthew 12:12-32). If Jesus and the WORD are synonymous, then REJECTING the BIBLE, is rejecting JESUS! It equates to Blasphemy of the HOLY SPIRIT. Jesus demonstrated, and spoke of it, we need the actual recorded WORD OF GOD to overcome Satan’s attacks. In a stunning rebuke of the church, and those who IDENTIFY as CHRISTIANS, we find why the church is feckless in these end days. In the 7th annual “American Worldview” survey conducted by Dr. George Barna and the Cultural Research Center at Arizona Christian University, the findings were blasphemous. It found that most Americans feel that mankind is “basically good,” but when asked about the value of human life, only 39% agreed that life is sacred. Both of those beliefs go against THE WORD OF GOD! “Evangelicals” were over 70%, who do not believe the WORD OF GOD is true! When we doubt that the WORD OF GOD, is the WORD OF GOD- we commit a great sin, one that might be unpardonable! “As we reject the biblical worldview for what we might think are more enlightened human values, ironically we are rejecting the source of the very things that make us human. When we no longer value life, when we no longer acknowledge our sin nature, when we no longer see our need for a Savior, things become incredibly dire for our nation.” President Len Munsil, Arizona Christian University. There are only two options when it comes to knowledge of a divine Creator: revelation or speculation. Either he speaks, or we guess. And he has spoken. The God of heaven and earth chose to reveal himself to us, through a book, THE BIBLE. Scripture is like an all-access pass into the revealed mind and will of God. If we know the WORD, we know JESUS! KNOW JESUS, KNOW PEACE…it all starts with HIS WORD. Know the WORD, believe the WORD, serve the WORD, spread the WORD!
