Way of The Warrior- A Daily Devotional

The fear of the LORD is hatred of evil. Pride and arrogance and the way of evil and perverted speech I hate. -Proverbs 8:13 ESV

Warrior;
Evil is what is morally wrong, sinful, or wicked. Evil is the result of bad actions stemming from a bad character. Biblically, evil is anything that contradicts the holy nature of God (Psalm 51:4). Evil behavior can be thought of as falling into two categories: evil committed against other people (murder, theft, adultery) and evil committed against God (unbelief, idolatry, blasphemy). From the disobedience in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 2:9) to the wickedness of Babylon the Great (Revelation 18:2), the Bible speaks of the existence of evil.

Leader, A progression is shown: Pride and arrogance are conditions of the heart, which is where it all starts. Where there is pride in the heart, it will come out in “the evil way,” that is in action. Evil also emerges in words, though it may not always be obvious. When evil resides in the heart, it will be exposed in perverse speech, language contrary to the truth of God and to love. James 3:8 declares that “no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.” He also says, “If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man” (James 3:2). We can only reach that perfection with God’s intervention and help, which, thankfully, we have.

Conduit, the apostle Paul essentially says that the foundation of good works—particularly within the church of God—is humility or lowliness. Humble yourself before God and man whilst seeking ye first the kingdom of God- only then will WISDOM and ‘Fear of the LORD’, present themselves in overflowing abundance! If you want to get higher, then you must get lower!! As John said, “I must decrease so He can increase.” Can I get a witness?!
