But these people blaspheme all that they do not understand, and they are destroyed by all that they, like unreasoning animals, understand instinctively. Woe to them! For they walked in the way of Cain and abandoned themselves for the sake of gain to Balaam’s error and perished in Korah’s rebellion. These are hidden reefs at your love feasts, as they feast with you without fear, shepherds feeding themselves; waterless clouds, swept along by winds; fruitless trees in late autumn, twice dead, uprooted; wild waves of the sea, casting up the foam of their own shame; wandering stars, for whom the gloom of utter darkness has been reserved forever. – Jude 1:10-13 ESV
We have many people professing to walk with Christ, many who claim to be CHRISTIANS and yet are living their life like the world! There are many who claim the banner of Christ, but yet they are no different than those who mock God, deny His deity and the validity of the WORD. The church, and many who profess to be followers of Christ, have WANDERED OFF THE LIGHT ROAD…. They have wandered off the right road and followed the footsteps of Balaam son of Beor, who loved to earn money by doing wrong. But Balaam was stopped from his mad course when his donkey rebuked him with a human voice. These people are as useless as dried-up springs or as mist blown away by the wind. They are doomed to blackest darkness. They brag about themselves with empty, foolish boasting. With an appeal to twisted sexual desires, they lure back into sin those who have barely escaped from a lifestyle of deception. They promise freedom, but they themselves are slaves of sin and corruption. (2 Peter 2:15-19) The SPIRIT of Balaam seems to be rampant in America today and in those that profess to be a part of His church. God in His omniscience foretold us that this would be the case. In Revelation 2:14, the church of Pergamum is scolded for tolerating the “the doctrine of Balaam. This is the GREAT APOSTASY.
Leader, The Bible indicates that there will be a great apostasy during the end times. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first. (2 Thessalonians 2:3a) The “great apostasy” is a sign of the end times. The KJV calls it the “falling away,” while other translations call it “the rebellion.” This is a clear indication of the end times, there is a rebellion, an abandonment of the truth. The Bible tells us, the end times will include a wholesale rejection of God’s revelation, a further “falling away” of an already fallen world. All one needs to do to see this falling away, look at America and what has happened so FAST and so DEEP. Churches so wrapped up in the BUSINESS OF THE WORLD, instead of our FATHERS BUSINESS. If the devil can’t make you bad, He will make you busy! Busy about the TEMPORAL, busy about the world’s affairs and issues. It is like the Parable in Luke: But he said to him, “A man once gave a great banquet and invited many. And at the time for the banquet he sent his servant to say to those who had been invited, ‘Come, for everything is now ready.’ But they all alike began to make excuses. The first said to him, ‘I have bought a field, and I must go out and see it. Please have me excused.’ And another said, ‘I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to examine them. Please have me excused.’ And another said, ‘I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.’ (Luke 14:16-20) The CHURCH like the WORLD, is wrapped up in the temporal and has no time for the ETERNAL. The church in its desire to FIT IN, to have the world LIKE US, we have become compromised. We have mingled so much with the world that the world changed us instead of HIS CHURCH changing the world. Instead of the WORLD becoming like the CHURCH was supposed to be, the CHURCH has become LIKE THE WORLD. This is what BALAAM did to the Israelites to appease Balak.
Conduit, the DOCTRINE OF BALAAM, is best seen when one looks objectively at the church in America and America herself. GotQuestions.com puts it succinctly. The ‘Doctrine of Balaam’ is the attitude that one can be fully cooperative with the world and still serve God. The doctrine of Balaam teaches compromise, wanting Christians to forget they are called to be separate and holy (Leviticus 20:26; 1 Peter 1:2); the doctrine of Balaam makes believers indistinguishable from the unbelieving world (Matthew 5:13). The doctrine of Balaam is a belief that “a little sin” does not hurt (Galatians 5:9), especially if there’s some financial or personal benefit involved (1 Timothy 6:5). A person following the doctrine of Balaam is willing to compromise his beliefs for the sake of economics and popularity. He acts to enable sinful behaviors for personal gain or even participate in them (Romans 1:32). In practical terms, the teaching or doctrine of Balaam is the view that Christians can—or even should—compromise their convictions for the sake of popularity, money, sexual gratification, or personal gain. It’s the attitude that treats sin as “no big deal.” Christians cannot—and should not—totally shun the presence of sinners or unbelievers (Luke 7:34; 1 Corinthians 5:9–13), but we are obligated to stand up for truth (Ephesians 4:25), righteousness (Proverbs 23:20; Romans 14:22), and goodness (2 Peter 1:5, Matthew 5:16), whether it’s what others want to hear or not (John 4:16–18; 8:11; Acts 24:24–25). THE TIME IS NOW, to shake off the sin of Balaam’s doctrine and start BEING DIFFERENT. IT IS TIME TO BE THE CALLED-OUT ONES, CHURCH! We are called to be different, like Christ was different. If you do this you will know, by how the world treats you- with disdain, with hatred, with animosity, with ridicule and CANCEL CULTURE. Here is your litmus test: As America and the world moves farther away from God are you profiting? Are you experiencing any of the dejection and CANCELLING that He endured and that the church will endure? If you are on God’s team and the World is against God- how are you doing? Not every blessing that comes on this planet is from God! Examine yourself to see if you are STILL IN THE FAITH? (2 Corinthians 13:5)
