“Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the LORD your God,- Isaiah 43:1b-3a ESV
If you are a child of God then the world, America is getting stranger and stranger. The world has one way of seeing things, but children of God have a different set of eyes, SPIRITUAL EYES, we can see things that those WITHOUT God, miss! For many in the world, things today are NOT vastly different than they have always been. 2 Peter 3 talks about this time and this version of thinking; Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires. They will say, “What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times of our ancestors, everything has remained the same since the world was first created. (2 Peter 3:3-4) God is working things out, He is in control and He is using HIS PEOPLE, connecting with them SPIRITUALLY to affect things, physically in this world! We must hold onto our FAITH, and believe what GOD tells us, not what our fleshly eyes, ears and feelings tell us!
Leader, for those of us that are true FOLLOWERS OF JESUS CHRIST, we MUST see things through the Bible and see things through a SPIRITUAL FRAME. In 2 Kings there is an interesting story about seeing things through this world’s eyes and seeing things with Spiritual eyes: When the king of Aram was at war with Israel, he would confer with his officers and say, “We will mobilize our forces at such and such a place.” But immediately Elisha, the man of God, would warn the king of Israel, “Do not go near that place, for the Arameans are planning to mobilize their troops there.” So the king of Israel would send word to the place indicated by the man of God. Time and again Elisha warned the king, so that he would be on the alert there. The king of Aram became very upset over this. He called his officers together and demanded, “Which of you is the traitor? Who has been informing the king of Israel of my plans?” (2 Kings 6:8-11) The King was looking through HIS FLESHLY eyes, seeing what the WORLD sees and wanting to put it in a WORLDLY context. But God was working at the SPIRITUAL LEVEL through Elisha the Prophet.
Conduit, this story of Elisha and the Arameans is a great story about the EYES of the WORLD vs SPIRITUAL EYES. So one night the king of Aram sent a great army with many chariots and horses to surround the city. When the servant of the man of God got up early the next morning and went outside, there were troops, horses, and chariots everywhere. “Oh, sir, what will we do now?” the young man cried to Elisha. “Don’t be afraid!” Elisha told him. “For there are more on our side than on theirs!” Then Elisha prayed, “O LORD, open his eyes and let him see!” The LORD opened the young man’s eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire. (2 Kings 6:14-17) Conduit, if GOD BE FOR US, who can be against us? Greater is He who is in us, then he who is in the world. In my weakness His strength is perfected. We must see through SPIRITUAL eyes, the decay of the world and the SHORT-SIGHTEDNESS of those of the world. It is all SPIRITUAL! Whatever problems we are facing in this world we must know that there has never been an emergency meeting of the TRINITY. God is aware of where we are, and our struggles, just like HE WAS with Israel and the movement of the Aramean army! “Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the sight of all Israel, “Be strong and courageous, for you shall go with this people into the land that the LORD has sworn to their fathers to give them, and you shall put them in possession of it. It is the LORD who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” (Deuteronomy 31:6-8) God’s promise that “I will never leave you nor forsake you” is found in multiple books of the Bible, in both the Old and New Testaments. With this promise, we can be assured that He is always with us and BE ENCOURAGED to TRUST in God in faith and spirit. We must, HOLD ONTO THAT, and WALK BY FAITH- NOT by sight! Faith is believing what God says, even when our flesh tells us something different! Today LIVE BY THAT FAITH!
