For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay. “Behold, his soul is puffed up; it is not upright within him, but the righteous shall live by his faith. – Habakkuk 2:3-4 ESV

Warrior;

Even though God was telling Habakkuk, this information for a specific TIME, God was making a universal statement about MAN and about GOD and about how the 2 entities work.  Proverbs 29:18 tells us, “Without a Vision, people perish” A vision is critical; having an idea of where one is headed, is a key to getting “there”, from here.  The ‘vision’ being referred to in both instances, references DIVINE COMMUNICATION. In other words, to paraphrase; without a WORD FROM GOD, people cast off restraint, people are “loose”, they go their own way. Jesus said, “I AM THE WAY”, so without HIS GUIDANCE on the NARROW PATH- we go OUR OWN WAY.  Since our way is NOT GOD’s WAY, we wind up on the WIDE PATH. On this path we will see many because the WORLD IS ON this path, and it leads to DESTRUCTION.

Leader, Matthew 7:13-14 in a loose translation called The Voice, puts it this way: ‘There are two paths before you; you may take only one path. One doorway is narrow. And one door is wide. Go through the narrow door. For the wide door leads to a wide path, and the wide path is broad; the wide, broad path is easy, and the wide, broad, easy path has many, many people on it; but the wide, broad, easy, crowded path leads to death. Now then that narrow door leads to a narrow road that in turn leads to life. It is hard to find that road. Not many people manage it.’ We cannot do it the world’s way, we must do it GOD’S WAY. It is impossible to know GOD’S WAY apart from seeking GOD’S WAY through GOD’S WORD. Why is this true? God told the prophet Isaiah why, “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the LORD. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine”. (Isaiah 55:8) Paul in his epistle to the Romans put it this way, “O, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable His judgments, and untraceable His ways! “Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been His counselor?” (Romans 11:33-34)

Conduit, this sets the stage for Habakkuk’s great theological declaration, “The just shall live by faith” (2:4). This verse is quoted 3 times in the New Testament (Romans 1:17; Galatians 3:11; Hebrews 10:38). Three, in Hebrew, shelosh, or sheloshah- it means harmony, new life, and completeness. The number 3 is used 467 times in the Bible. It pictures completeness, though to a lesser degree than 7. The meaning of this number derives from the fact that it is the first of four spiritually perfect numerals (the others being 7, 10 and 12) God has a PERFECT PLAN, and you and I are IN THAT PLAN! For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29:11-13) For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. (Ephesians 2:10) CONDUIT, God has perfect knowledge, OMNISCIENCE! He knows where you are at, He knows where the WORLD IS AT, and HE KNOWS, THE TIME IS NOW! You will find God’s vision for your life, by seeking God’s face, through GOD’S WORD! Then, wait upon the LORD and remember, “THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH”! Faith is the substance or assurance of things we hope for, but have not yet received. Faith (confidence, belief, trust) is also our evidence of that which is not seen—the invisible spiritual things. Faith is defined as belief with strong conviction; firm belief in something for which there may be no tangible proof; complete trust, confidence, reliance, or devotion. LIVE BY FAITH IN GOD-HE HAS YOU, HE HAS THIS!
