For I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate. Now if I do what I do not want, I agree with the law, that it is good. So now it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells within me. For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out. For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells within me. -Romans 7:15-20 ESV

It is so important that we understand who we are called to be and as you can read above we are called to be WARRIORS! If you are a child of God then you are at war!  And if you profess to be a child of God and you are not in the battle then you’re either NOT really a child of God or you are losing a battle that you are totally unaware of that is even going on. “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name? ‘And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’ (Matthew 7:21-23) There is a battle raging and if you are a CHILD OF THE LIVING GOD, the GOD OF THE BIBLE then you need to be close to GENERAL JESUS so that you know what you are to do, where you are to be, what you are to know and how you are to march ahead.

Leader, it seems strange to hear our all-knowing Lord say there’s something—or someone—He doesn’t know. Scripture tells us that Jesus is Omniscient, see Psalm 147:5, 1 John 3:20, Isaiah 40:28. What is being references in Matthew 7:21-23 refers not to an intellectual knowledge here but to a relational knowledge. Jesus says this at the very end of the most powerful sermon ever delivered, Jesus is wrapping up His Sermon on the Mount with a final warning about true faith. Jesus predicts that false Christian prophets will be coming as wolves in sheep’s clothing (Matthew 7:15). They may use all the right “God talk” and even make impressive displays of power, but they will not belong to the Lord. The word “omniscient” comes from two Latin words omnis signifying all, and scientia signifying knowledge. When we say that God is omniscient it means that He has perfect knowledge of all things. He does not have to learn anything, and He has not forgotten anything. In other words, God knows your struggles, God knows where you are at; God knows the battle that is raging AROUND us and IN US! Hebrews 4:15 acknowledges this; For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. So KNOW that there has never been an emergency meeting of the TRINITY, God is not surprised by your circumstances and HE IS NOT disappointed in you!

Conduit, we are in many battles, the battle of being IN THE WORLD, and NOT OF THE WORLD-The battle to honor and respect the name of our Savior Jesus and the battle against the Devil and His desire to remove our usefulness to God. This is what Paul is referencing in Ephesians 6; Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. (v 10-12) These are critical battles that every TRUE FOLLOWER OF JESUS is engaged with. However, all those matter little, if we are not FIGHTING THE GOOD FIGHT internally, between our outer man and our inner man. This battle, with our flesh and the demonic activity that we have allowed into our experience is the first battle that must be engaged and won through the HOLY SPIRIT who dwells in every believer. The battle is in the mind and we must put resources into our mind daily to fight this battle and be victorious. During the “Shelter in Place” that is happening in our dying world, we must be renewing ourselves daily in and through the WORD OF GOD! Talk to people about God, listen to sermons and music about our Jesus and focus on HIS WORD, HIS WAY, HIS WILL. We can use this slow down time, to focus more on our LORD and HIS COMING- which is soon- to get us in fighting shape mentally. I am here to be a resource and help you GET YOUR MIND RIGHT and get your FOCUS ON OUR LORD and off of our circumstances!
