“But forget all that—it is nothing compared to what I am going to do.  For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland. – Isaiah 43:18-19 NLT

As the OLD year ends, and the NEW year is before us, let us remember we serve a GOD OF NEW BEGINNINGS.  In the BEGINNING GOD CREATED; is the way our WORD starts, and this is our WORD FOR TODAY!  Are you willing to be NEW, that is what being BORN AGAIN IS ALL ABOUT!  “Rabbi,” Nicodemus says, “we know that you have come from God as a teacher, for no one can perform these signs that you perform unless God is with him.” In reply, Jesus tells Nicodemus that in order to enter the Kingdom of God, a person must be “born again.” (John 3:2, 3) Are you ready for a new beginning in a new year?

Leader, the Bible is replete with GOD telling us today is the day to start fresh, clean slate: My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.  Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (Galatians 2:20, 2 Corinthians 5:17) Faith and NEW BEGINNINGS are a bunch of B.S. (Belief Systems) And we know from the WORD, for it is written: It is impossible to please God without Faith.  (Hebrews 11:6) We serve a God of NEW BEGINNINGS.  For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Don’t forget that you Gentiles used to be outsiders. You were called “uncircumcised heathens” by the Jews, who were proud of their circumcision, even though it affected only their bodies and not their hearts.  In those days you were living apart from Christ. You were excluded from citizenship among the people of Israel, and you did not know the covenant promises God had made to them. You lived in this world without God and without hope. But now you have been united with Christ Jesus. Once you were far away from God, but now you have been brought near to him through the blood of Christ. (Ephesians 2:10-13)

Conduit, Peter thought He was impressing Jesus when He asked how many times we shall forgive our brother: Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times. (Matthew 18:21-22) It doesn’t matter what you did or didn’t do this last year; Sins of omission or Sins of commission- God says all things are NEW, in this day, this YEAR! And I will give them one heart, and a new spirit I will put within them. I will remove the heart of stone from their flesh and give them a heart of flesh, that they may walk in my statutes and keep my rules and obey them. And they shall be my people, and I will be their God. (Ezekiel 11:19-20) Jehovah, Abba- Daddy is all about NEWNESS of life and NEW LIFE.  As we celebrate the NEW YEAR let us REVEL in the fact that GOD says all thing are NEW, so TURN, repent, and accept the NEW BEGINNINGS of a NEW YEAR focused on the NEWNESS of your relationship with the GOD of the UNIVERSE; Jehovah Sabaoth, Adonai.  Amen!
