Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted. – Hebrews 12:1-3 ESV

We must be encouraged: Do Not Grow Weary! We need encouragement to fight the good fight. The word ENCOURAGE means; To put courage into someone! If you are a child of God in this ever-darkening world you are going to need encouragement. The enemy’s number 1 weapon formed against us is confusion. When we are confused, we don’t step out, we don’t speak up and we don’t RISE UP! We live in confusing times and in a confusing world and the Bible brings us some light, some understanding. The Bible is an instruction manual: All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Leader, the Bible is a book of Hope and encouragement. This world can weigh on us, if we are from a different Kingdom. John 17:14-16 tells us; I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. We need HOPE and by spending time in HIS WORD, we understand HIS character and we become FULL of HOPE, or HOPEFUL: May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. (Romans 15:13, 4) It even gives a pattern: Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. (Romans 12:12)

Conduit, we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses- the Bible gives us examples of people, like us, who endured, who overcame and who believed. It is an expose of others who struggled, who were treated poorly and who were used by God in a great way, to make a great impact for our GREAT GOD! If we are going to be used by GOD in a GREAT WAY, then we need to GET OUR MINDS RIGHT! Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. (1 Peter 1:13) In our lead scripture we are even told God’s WHY: So that we may not grow weary or fainthearted! Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1) THE TIME IS NOW to be encouraged, and to realize the great battle that we are in. However, we also must understand we are NOT ALONE. We are being used by God and when we endure the lies and abuses of this world to bring HIM GLORY, we help fulfill his ministry and HIS MISSION. We become pawns in HIS GREAT DRAMA: For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Ephesians 2:10) Today, let us not just celebrate the Good news of the incarnate Christ, let us ENDURE, let us focus on those that have come before us and the ONE THAT paid it all for HE HAS A PLAN and we are IN HIS PLAN and being used for HIS GLORY. It is written: And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. (Philippians 1:6) Let us be witnesses to all the world through our BELIEFS and ACTIONS!
