And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified.- Romans 8:28-30 NASB
Most people know, or have been quoted, Romans 8:28. So when we are in a mess, or we made a mess, or a mess has been PUT UPON us, we go to our ‘jailhouse’ verse, of : ‘God will use ALL things for His glory, and our good; for those who LOVE GOD and are called according to HIS PURPOSE’. We need to continue God’s thought and read through verses 29-30. What is God’s purpose? His purpose is to populate the earth with people who are in HIS IMAGE, unto His Likeness. Lets go to the BEGINNING and see what He told us in the first chapter, in the first book of HIS BOOK: Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.” (Genesis 1:26)
Leader, God’s plan was interrupted by Satan in the Garden of Eden. It was known, God knew this, was not surprised by this, HE PLANNED for this for He is omniscient. Under the heading of “God arraigns Adam and Eve” we read: Then the man and his wife heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the breeze of the day, and they hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden. So the LORD God called out to the man, “Where are you?” “I heard Your voice in the garden,” he replied, “and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid myself.” “Who told you that you were naked?” asked the LORD God. “Have you eaten of the tree from which I commanded you not to eat?” (Genesis 3:8-11) This is the beginning of Phase 2 of God’s plan, to RECONCILE MAN back to God and use this to make man into HIS IMAGE, unto the likeness of HIS SON. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. (2 Corinthians 5:17-19)
Conduit, Ephesians 1:4-5 affirms this: even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will. God is doing all the heavy lifting, God is NOT surprised, He cannot be surprised. He is omniscient and He is immutable, this means He is all knowing and cannot learn, or He would cease to be God. God has always had plans for you, if you are HIS. He knows where you are at and He knows how HE pulls you through it, He has already seen it. Therefore, we are to have FAITH. Faith means we believe what HIS WORD says even though we feel LOST, abandoned or outside of HIS WILL. His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire. For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins. Therefore, brothers, be all the more diligent to confirm your calling and election, for if you practice these qualities you will never fall. For in this way there will be richly provided for you an entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. (2 Peter 1:3-11) Amen!
