How long will you torment me and break me in pieces with words? These ten times you have cast reproach upon me; are you not ashamed to wrong me? And even if it be true that I have erred, my error remains with myself. If indeed you magnify yourselves against me and make my disgrace an argument against me, know then that God has put me in the wrong and closed his net about me. Behold, I cry out, ‘Violence!’ but I am not answered; I call for help, but there is no justice. -Job 19:2-7 ESV
There is such a lack of compassion for others today. Jesus foretold that the love of many would grow cold as part of His answer to the disciples’ question, “What will be the sign of your coming, and of the end of the age?”(Matt 24) Most readers of the Bible know that, however, the SURPRISE is that “believers of Christ” will be so COLD to other Followers of Christ.
Leader, Job found out what many a struggling Christians learn today, “With friends like these who needs enemies!” If Love is a Verb- an action word- then many of us know the LACK OF LOVE from those who call themselves children of God. The only thing many believers have for other STRUGGLING BELIEVERS is advice to ‘clean up their lives’ and maybe things will get better; “Get a job, get real, get right with God!”, is the main form of help people get from many “believers” today.
Conduit, we must remember that Jesus says we choose how we will be treated by God by how we treat others in need, in despair, in trouble. Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.” (Luke 6:38)
