Then Harbona, one of the eunuchs in attendance on the king, said, “Moreover, the gallows that Haman has prepared for Mordecai, whose word saved the king, is standing at Haman’s house, fifty cubits high.” And the king said, “Hang him on that.”  So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then the wrath of the king abated.- Esther 7:9-10 ESV

The Bible has so many STORIES within a STORY.  There are so many levels of meaning that it should INSPIRE a TRUE FOLLOWER of Jesus and OUR FATHER, ABBA GOD, to search the scriptures!  As the Palmist proclaims; O God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly; My soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You, In a dry and weary land where there is no water. (Ps 63:1) If you have this THIRST and HUNGER for GOD, then you will have it for HIS WORD.  If you lack the PASSION for HIS WORD- you might re-consider your PASSION for HIS GOD! According to the Bible, Amalek was the first enemy that Israel encountered after the crossing of the Sea of Reeds.

Leader, the two MEN in this story Haman and Mordecai, have deep roots in the BIBLE for their fore-fathers represent our LORD and our REBELLION against God.  Haman was an Amalekite, he was a descendant of King Agog- they were enemies of GOD and HIS PEOPLE. The Amalekites messed with MOSES during the EXODUS and with ISRAEL during SAUL and DAVID’s reign.  Read 1 Sam 15:10-23, SAUL did what HE thought was GOODNUFF, instead of following the counsel of God.  “But I did obey the Lord,” Saul insisted. “I carried out the mission he gave me. I brought back King Agag, but I destroyed everyone else. (1 Sam 15:20) We now know, He did NOT kill them all as God had commanded!

Conduit, the HERO in this story is MORDECAI, who was only in existence because of KING DAVID. Read 2 Sam 16:5-15; Shimei Curses David.  Shimei was from the house of KISH, just like Mordecai, from King Saul’s bloodline, a Benjamite.  And David said to Abishai and to all his servants, “Behold, my own son seeks my life; how much more now may this Benjaminite! Leave him alone, and let him curse, for the LORD has told him to. (2 Sam 16:11) King David’s men would NOT tolerate his disrespect for DAVID and wanted to KILL HIM-  He deserved to die- BUT, David showed GRACE and MERCY to SHIMEI- which eventually led to the birth of MORDECAI. GOD IS IN CONTROL, seek HIS MYSTERY and WISDOM by searching HIS WORD! Be THANKFUL for the WORD of GOD and our JEWISH brethren who KEPT IT!
