But he said to him, “A man once gave a great banquet and invited many. And at the time for the banquet he sent his servant to say to those who had been invited, ‘Come, for everything is now ready.’ But they all alike began to make excuses. The first said to him, ‘I have bought a field, and I must go out and see it. Please have me excused.’ And another said, ‘I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to examine them. Please have me excused.’ And another said, ‘I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.’ -Luke 14:16-20 ESV

Warrior;

For everything in the world–the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life–comes not from the Father but from the world.(1 John 2:16) We can become so wrapped up in the reality of the TEMPORAL that we don’t have TIME for the ETERNAL. We are easily distracted by the things of the flesh and THE SPIRIT hearkens!

Leader, the Lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and the pride of life they are the reasons for the banquet refusal. They also become the excuses for people not coming to Jesus! Busy in commerce, busy in labor and busy in more important relationships. Where have you been too busy to spend time in God’s Word and in INTIMATE prayer with HIM?

Conduit, if the devil can’t make you bad he will make you BUSY! You might be doing GOOD THINGS, but are you doing things that are Eternal? Remember, BELIEVERS WILL stand before the judgement seat of Christ, and only those things we did for God, to the glory of GOD, or being LEAD BY GOD- will withstand the fire! If you want to be busy, be BUSY about God’s work- IT matters, because HE matters!
