Jabez was more honorable than his brothers, and his mother named him Jabez saying, “Because I bore him with pain.” Now Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, “Oh that You would bless me indeed and enlarge my border, and that Your hand might be with me, and that You would keep me from harm that it may not pain me!” And God granted him what he requested. – 1 Chron 4:9-10 NAS

Warrior;

As we start a NEW YEAR with new expectations, let us remember God’s sanctification process. Sanctification is the act or process of being made holy. It literally means to “set apart for particular use in a special purpose or work and to make holy or sacred.” Jabez’s brothers were OK, there was nothing negative said about them. But the one with all the PAIN, the one with all the disappointments, the negatives, the struggles, Jabez- God blessed him INDEED and granted what he requested.

Leader, hurt, disappointment, anguish, loneliness and depression can be used to create a higher status- HONOR- in a Saint. Ask God to EXPAND your territory: Pain can equal GAIN in the Kingdom of God! We want to hope for great things this new year. Remember there are 2 sets of eyes; temporal and spiritual. One sees things that are here and will fade. The other sees things that are eternal and all about God. And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.(Romans 8:28)

Conduit, THIS YEAR remember, God didn’t give JABEZ a NEW name. He was still called PAIN. But God used that pain for God’s glory and Jabez’ good! May God use the pain of the past years, to bless you in the New Year- indeed! For I know the plans I have for you, this year, plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans for HOPE and a FUTURE, says our LORD! Have a blessed NEW YEAR. Deo Volente!
