For none of us lives to himself, and none of us dies to himself. For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s. For to this end Christ died and lived again, that he might be Lord both of the dead and of the living. – Romans 14:7-9 ESV
What a powerful part of scripture; Romans 14. In my ESV (English Standard Version) Bible there are 2 headings in this chapter; “Do Not PASS Judgement on ONE another and DO NOT CAUSE another to stumble”. IF GOD BE GOD, then we need to relinquish that role and quit judging everybody! Let other people’s sin be between them and God and live your life like your life is about the LORD! Right in the middle of this explanation of how NOT TO DO THIS, and WHAT TO DO, we are reminded by PAUL; WHO IS GOD, who is LORD, WHO IS SAVIOR and WHO IS IT ALL ABOUT? So, the questions is; WHO IS YOUR LORD, who is your CHRIST?
Leader, Christ comes from Christos, a Greek word that means “the anointed one,” or “the chosen one.” The Hebrew word meaning the same thing is Mashiach, or as we know it—Messiah. ‘Christ’ is a title, IT IS NOT JESUS’ last name. Although the Bible uses it both ways. For example, the Bible often refers to Jesus by name as “Jesus Christ,” just as we do in modern usage (see Matthew 1:1, 18; Mark 1:1; John 1:17; 17:3; Acts 3:6; Romans 3:24, etc.).But it also speaks of Jesus as “the Christ,” meaning “the anointed one,” the Messiah. Jesus Christ combines His name (Jesus) with His title (Christ), meaning Jesus, the anointed One, or Jesus, the chosen One. Jesus is His human name as announced to Mary by the angel Gabriel (Luke 1:31), and Christ is His title, as the chosen, anointed Son of God.
Conduit, if we are a TRUE follower of the LIVING CHRIST, then He will have many roles in your life. He is first SAVIOR, for we must repent- change our mind and realize we cannot run our lives properly, HE MUST SAVE US from our flesh, from ourselves. Then He becomes our LORD, our Master, it is CHRIST who lives in me, not I! Then He becomes our LOVE. We realize what He has done for us and we FALL deeper IN LOVE with our LORD. Lastly, He becomes OUR LIFE, our reason, for our season, IT BECOMES all about HIM! For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. (Philippians 1:21). When we arrive at this this place that PAUL got to, we call that DEPENDENCE! You can’t get to this place called dependence, unless you are willing to walk down the road called, DESPERATION! Once you are willing to do that, then GOD IS YOUR PURPOSE, and the things of this world- lose their importance! The Time is NOW to decide; WHO IS YOUR LIFE ALL ABOUT? Today, ACT AS IF it is the LORDS!
