For it would have been better for them never to have known the way of righteousness than after knowing it to turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them.  What the true proverb says has happened to them: “The dog returns to its own vomit, and the sow, after washing herself, returns to wallow in the mire. – 2 Peter 2:21-22 ESV

We are called to fight the good fight and part of that GOOD FIGHT, is an internal battle.  A battle with our devil, with our world and with our flesh.  We must have discernment to understand, “Is that me, is that my devil or is that my LORD?” The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions. (Galatians 5:17) Romans 5:12 tells us sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned.  IT IS A BATTLE WITHIN and it is waged in the heart and mind.

Leader, A dog barks because it is a dog, and a cat meows because it is a cat, it is INNATE; meaning belonging to the essential nature of something.  Paul knew well of this struggle: So the trouble is not with the law, for it is spiritual and good. The trouble is with me, for I am all too human, a slave to sin.  I don’t really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don’t do it. Instead, I do what I hate.  But if I know that what I am doing is wrong, this shows that I agree that the law is good.  So I am not the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it. (Romans 7:14-17) In order to fight this battle successfully we must BE AWARE and LET GOD FIGHT FOR US.  If we give over authority of our lives and our dreams and our desires, He also takes care of the battles and the resources and the provisions and the POWER.  In our weakness HIS STRENGTH is perfected!  We learn to depend on HIM!

Conduit, this is why we are called to daily, DIE TO OURSELVES.  For when I tried to keep the law, it condemned me. So I died to the law—I stopped trying to meet all its requirements—so that I might live for God.  My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.  (Galatians 2:19-20a) When Moses was ready to die, and he was sending Joshua forward into the unknown, the PROMISED LAND, Moses spoke these words of wisdom: “It is the LORD who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” (Deuteronomy 31:8) We must remember like Gideon, “The Battle is the LORDS”!  No man has ever lived the CHRISTIAN life, but for JESUS!  We must die to our fleshly desires of control, of personal desire and self-serving lifestyles and choices- and start living for God!  Lord, please give us instructions today on how we might allow you control of our lives.  Please Lord take our lives and use them.  Please guide our steps and our hearts.  Please let your words be our words, your will be our will and your way be our way.  We ask this in the one name under heaven and earth that all men must utter to be saved, JESUS! Amen.
