Simon of Cyrene was forced to carry the cross of Jesus.(Matt 27:32) Biblical scholars tend to lean in the direction of NO REWARD for Simon because he was forced by the Romans to carry the CROSS OF CHRIST. God did NOT create us to be ROBO-beings because, “A gift that is commanded is NO GIFT AT ALL!”. However, God does GIVE REWARDS to those who WILLINGLY choose to SUFFER, experience SHAME in this world because of Jesus and who SURRENDER to HIS purpose and plan for their CREATION- to carry the CROSS of JESUS, that HE carried FIRST for US!

Leader, to CARRY your CROSS-means Death of self, Death to your plans and ambition and YOUR WILLingness to serve Him as HE directs! (Phil 1:21)

Conduit, this resurrection life you received from God is not a timid, grave-tending life. It’s adventurously expectant, greeting God with a childlike “What’s next, Papa?” God’s Spirit touches our spirits and confirms who we really are. We know who he is, and we know who we are: Father and children. And we know we are going to get what’s coming to us—an unbelievable inheritance! We go through exactly what Christ goes through. If we go through the hard times with him, then we’re certainly going to go through the good times with him!(Rom 8:15-17 MSG) Amen!
