We serve the same God today, as the Israelites served in the desert! Many people have relegated Gods arbiter, JESUS CHRIST, to this little figure who NEEDS us to like Him and ‘let him into our heart’. Many people believe the God of the OLD COVENANT is different then the GOD of the NEW AGREEMENT. That is a LIE from the PIT OF HELL! In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus Himself tells us, “”Don’t misunderstand why I have come. I did not come to abolish the law of Moses or the writings of the prophets. No, I came to accomplish their purpose.”
Leader, the KEY attribute of God is HE IS HOLY! Holy means SEPARATE, SET APART. God is SET APART from us, he is transcendent, meaning BEYOND the LIMIT! In the EXODUS as God was teaching and growing His children, like a parent would grow his adolescent, He had to TEACH US THE BASICS. God showed there was GREAT distance between a PERFECT God and a SINFUL man. He showed us that the physical distance between CREATURES and the CREATOR is symbolic of the MORAL distance that exists between man and GOD! Moses was the SHADOW of the MEDIATOR between God and Man, the GOD-MAN, Jesus the CHRIST.
Conduit, in Numbers 23:19 God tells us He is NOT like man that He should LIE or change HIS MIND. Jesus tells us to let our YES, be YES and our NO, be NO! (Matt 5:37). IN 2 Sam 6:7 we see Uzzah smote before all, because he touched the ARK. God KNEW it was better for the ark to fall to the ground, which is less contaminated, then the hands of a sinful man. In Leviticus 10:1-3 we read the head of the PRIESTHOOD, Aaron’s 2 sons were killed on the spot for offering fire in an UNAUTHORIZED way. Both David and Aaron were mad because of God’s punishment, but God said, “If I say DON’T, DON” T- if I say DO, then DO! Today, know that we live in the dispensation of GRACE. Jesus is our REDEEMER, but to think we can do things our way, or close to HIS WAY and LIVE…we are listening to a deceiving angel! Fall to your face and humble yourself and accept what JESUS did on the CROSS! You can’t be GOODNUFF!
