Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip, “Rise and go toward the south to the road that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” This is a desert place. And the Spirit said to Philip, “Go over and join this chariot.” So Philip ran to him and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet and asked, “Do you understand what you are reading?” And he said, “How can I, unless someone guides me?” And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.- Acts 8:26,29-31 ESV

Warrior:

Philip demonstrated pure faith!  He was willing to leave a huge REVIVAL happening in the city of Samaria to do what God wanted. Philip went down to the city of Samaria and proclaimed to them the Christ. And the crowds with one accord paid attention to what was being said by Philip, when they heard him and saw the signs that he did. For unclean spirits, crying out with a loud voice, came out of many who had them, and many who were paralyzed or lame were healed. So there was much joy in that city. (ACTS 8:5-8 ESV)

Leader, when we are in the service of GOD there is no SMALL job!  Every single person matters and every single person has a HOLE in their SOUL in the shape of Jesus- It is the DIVINE formation!  It is the way that GOD TRANSFORMS us into the image of HIS SON! And when THE CALLED- the CHOSEN, respond BY FAITH then all heaven and earth rejoice! Luke 15:7 tells us that ALL heaven and earth rejoices when ONE SINNER, changes direction and allows JESUS HIS rightful place in their heart, and their lives.

Conduit, it doesn’t seem like PHILIP did much, but what he did, he did because it was GOD’s WORD to him.  When we do God’s will- or, LET HIS WILL work through us, then there WILL BE eternal fruit! History tells us that the ONE man, the eunuch, Philip met in the desert place- laid the foundation for Christianity in an entire nation. In contrast, the glory filled activity of the revival in Samaria is unknown.  The ONE had an impact on the nation of ETHIOPIA for centuries, the other- it’s hard to find evidence of any long term fruit.  Eternal success = walking- sometimes RUNNING- in the WILL OF GOD!
