This one line of scripture has many different translations, or transliterations. The law was our GUARDIAN, it was our SCHOOLMASTER, our TRAINER unto Christ, our pedagogue in Christ, a guide for us to The Messiah that we would be made right by faith. Paul here is talking about the Mosaic Law, the MORAL law, the LAW that leads to DEATH. Do you LOVE THE LAW?

Leader, the LAW has a purpose. It was to make GODS people different, HOLY. It was a HEDGE, separating Israel from other nations. It was a MIRROR, it shows us our SIN and GUILT. It was a BRIDLE, working to RESTRAIN us from SIN- from going the wrong way, and pointing us in the right direction. It was to be a BARRIER, to keep ISRAEL from walking across the lines and polluting themselves with DROSS. It was to show us the utter sinfulness of man and our NEED of a REDEEMER. Once you accepted the NEW COVENANT, sin is no longer your master, for you no longer live under the requirements of the law. You NOW LIVE under the freedom of God’s GRACE!

Conduit, The book of Galatians has been called- by the Father of the reformation, Martin Luther- the Magna Carta of the BIBLE.  It is a book about FREEDOM! Galatians 5:1 brings it all together: For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. Today, to us IN CHRIST- the LAW is instruction to HOLINESS.  Today the law is part of the process of SANCTIFICATION, it allows the FATHER to make us more like the SON.  May you LOVE GOD’s LAW and WORD, like David; “Oh how I love your law! It is my meditation all the day.” He understood, “Your commandment makes me wiser than my enemies, for it is ever with me.” Amen!
