This is what I mean: the law, which came 430 years afterward, does not annul a covenant previously ratified by God, so as to make the promise void. For if the inheritance comes by the law, it no longer comes by promise; but God gave it to Abraham by a promise. -Galatians 3:17-18 ESV

Salvation is through Faith alone in God and it has always been that way! Throughout all REDEMPTIVE HISTORY it has always been we are SAVED by FAITH alone! We can go all the way back to Abraham and see this TRUTH! Gen 15:6 tells us Abraham believed the Lord, and He credited it to him as righteousness.  900 years later, now under the Mosaic Law, the prophet Habakkuk again said, “Behold the proud, his soul is not upright in Him. But the just shall live by His Faith. (v2:4)

Leader, the Protestant Reformation was all about the abhorrent gospel that the Catholic Church was preaching of FAITH plus WORKS. Before and After Moses- Righteousness has always been by Faith- the JUST LIVE BY FAITH. 430 years after Abraham the MOSAIC LAW was introduced to address the SIN issue.  The Covenant of Promise that God made with Himself to Abraham never addressed the issue of SIN.  Transgressions required illumination of SIN and GUILT and so the Mosaic Law was added-it was inserted for a “set time” until the Seed came- The NEW and BETTER covenant and its Guarantor: Jesus! (Heb 7:22)

Conduit, after the 430 years of the Abrahamic Covenant of Promise, The Mosaic covenant was in place for 1500 years until it was fulfilled by the crucifixion of Christ. (Matt 5:17-18) For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. (Rom 10:4) We must choose between the two covenants; the Covenant of Promise or the Covenant of Works.  One is positive, one is negative, one a PROMISED blessing, one a promised CURSE. We have all violated the Moral Law of God.  Apart from Christ we are ALL CURSED, all headed for judgement.  But God is not just RIGHTEOUS and JUST, He is also Grace and FORGIVENESS. He holds out a PROMISE of ETERNAL LIFE for those that believe in HIM- by FAITH ALONE.  When we do that- HE IMPUTES HIS righteousness to US!  Christ paid the penalty, HE BECAME the CURSE so we can become the BLESSING! Amen!
