“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup and the plate, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. You blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and the plate, that the outside also may be clean. – Matt 23:25-26 ESV

Warrior;

The Scribes and the Pharisees were the religious leaders, they were the SPIRITUAL ELITE; They were to be role models! In Most people’s view, they were blameless in their religious observances. Many believed that the Scribes and the Pharisees were the first to enter the kingdom of Heaven. However, Jesus isn’t interested in the IMAGE He is interested in the HEART! For it is a HARDENED HEART that leads to life- and an eternity, apart from GOD! (Rom 2:5)

Leader, there is another message here; Jesus was teaching them that God’s standard is higher than what man can accomplish on HIS OWN. The literal picture of washing the INSIDE of a cup out, and understand how the OUTSIDE will also become clean through the process. However, if we focus just on the outside, the INSIDE which REALLY MATTERS- REMAINS filthy, contaminated, disease infested, corrupted…an ABOMINATION to drink from! Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” (John 3:3)

Conduit, to be BORN AGAIN is an INSIDE-OUT process. In John 6:44 we are told No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. This is what separates TRUE BIBLICAL CHRISTIANITY from everything else: Every other FAITH, is WORKS based; a system, a way that man can measure his progress and do what needs to be done to get into heaven.  But Jesus said there is a NEW ARRANGEMENT and it starts with YOUR HEART! The LAW and the Pharisees taught that you should not murder, but Jesus said HATE in your HEART, is just as bad. The LAW and the Pharisees taught that adultery was wrong, but Jesus said LUST in your HEART, is just as bad! Get your HEART ON JESUS!
