When the wine ran out, the mother of Jesus said to him, “They have no wine.” And Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does this have to do with me? My hour has not yet come.” His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”–John 2:3-5 ESV
Warrior;
On this earth, nobody knew exactly who Jesus was, and what He was like better than the carrier of His flesh, His earthly host, His mother, the Virgin Mary. This story gives a simple but critical lesson to those who desire to honor the Father by honoring the Son. Mary brought ‘IT’ to Jesus and left ‘IT’ there; ‘Do whatever He tells you”. He did the miracle, He got the glory, but Mary saw the NEED.
Leader, Mary was moved with compassion. IT was NOT her problem, she was at a wedding of a couple who most likely had money or planning problems. It wasn’t Mary’s problem but she saw a NEED and she wanted to MEET that NEED. Mary brought the NEED and the COUPLE to the awareness of Jesus and then she let GOD BE GOD! Based on His response Jesus was not there to do miracles, but when the NEED and the PEOPLE where brought before Him, HE too had compassion and HE acted.
Conduit, Jesus came here to do HIS FATHERS business and we are called to be just like JESUS! We are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. AVAIL and COMMIT- We are HIS HANDS and FEET, but HE IS THE ONE doing the work. We must trust in God and realize He is the one doing the produce, making things happen. (1 Cor 3:6) Our job is to bring it to the CROSS and then LEAVE the GLORY where it belongs to our Lord, and our Savior Jesus the Christ!
