For behold, I will bring a flood of waters upon the earth to destroy all flesh in which is the breath of life under heaven. Everything that is on the earth shall die. But I will establish my covenant with you, and you shall come into the ark, you, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives with you. Noah did this; he did all that God commanded him. – Genesis 6:17-18, 22 ESV

Warrior;
Are you truly following God? Are you willing to PICK UP YOUR CROSS, DAILY and follow your first love and espouse His name, JESUS? It had never rained in the HISTORY OF THE WORLD, at this point in scripture. They lived in a desert and it had never rained and the God of the universe told Moses, “Make yourself an ark of gopher wood….” NOAH did ALL that God had commanded. The LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually, BUT, Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD! Today we are LIKE the days of Noah! Will you give way to the wickedness of the world, or the Wisdom of His Word?

Leader, why was God so pleased with the SINFUL man Noah? It takes a good Belief System, to overcome the World’s ways. Faith is a Belief System, and based on your actions, your level of Faith is demonstrated. The writer of the Book of Hebrews, talks about this in the infamous FAITH- ‘Hall of Fame”: And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, in reverent fear constructed an ark for the saving of his household. By this he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith. (Heb 11:6-7) Today we live in a time where what was once considered WISE is now considered foolish. What was considered foolish is now the law of the land. Will you find favor in the LORD by NOT obeying HIS WORD?

Conduit, For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. (James 2:26). The ark took over 100 years to build. Can you imagine the mockery that Noah had to endure daily…for over 100 years? He was daily PREACHING, encouraging people to REPENT, to walk away from their self-driven, self-fulfilling lives and turn toward GOD and HIS way. Are you willing to work for God even when you get ridiculed? Are you willing to speak the name of Jesus even if it makes others feel uncomfortable? Are you willing to die to yourself daily and pick up your cross and risk being ostracized, called a BIGOT, called Closed-Minded for the sake of your GOD? Are you willing to chance SHAME and EMBARRASSEMENT from the world, as you do what the BIBLE says, instead of what the WORLD wants? If you answered yes, the next question is HOW LONG- a week, a month, a couple of years? As with everything else there are consequences for our choices- there is a COST and a REWARD. For those WILLING to boldly SPEAK and STAND for the name of JESUS- here is your consequence;” No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no heart has imagined, what God has prepared for those who love Him.”

Come now, let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool. If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land; – Isaiah 1:18-19 ESV

Warrior;
Isaiah is having a vision of coming judgment. We live in the TIME; the dispensation of MERCY. God has qualities that are unique to HIM. He has the qualities of NOTHING else, NOBODY else. In his book, “Knowledge of the Holy”, A.W. Tozer identifies 18 attributes of God and posits that God cannot cease to be any of these, or He would cease to be God! One of those Godly attributes is LONG-SUFFERING! The Lord does not delay and is not tardy or slow about what He promises, according to some people’s conception of slowness, but He is long-suffering (extraordinarily patient) toward you, not desiring that any should perish, but that all should turn to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9)

Leader, of all the Kings of Judah, Manasseh reigned the longest: 55 years starting at age 12. He was an evil king who ended up repenting of his sin later on in life. He is considered the PRODIGAL KING. Methuselah is recording as living the longest life of anybody in the history of the world- 969 years. When He died the flood came and wiped the earth clean sans 8! Methuselah literally means “At his death (something) was sent”. Methuselah can also be translated, ‘man of the spear’ and since ‘Cain’ means ‘possessor of the spear’ Methuselah is parallel type to Cain as the one who brought death into the world. Again, GOD not wanting any to perish!

Conduit, there is only ONE WAY out of this mess! J. Vernon McGee explains it this way: Philosophy says think your way out. Indulgence says, drink your way out. Politics says, spend your way out. Science says, invent your way out. Industry says work your way out. Labor says strike your way out. Fascism says bluff your way out. Militarism says fight your way out. HOWEVER, it is WRITTEN in the Bible to PAY your way out and Jesus says, HE IS THE WAY OUT! (John 14:6) In John 10:9 Jesus again tells us HE IS THE WAY OUT! I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. In closing, in the Book of Revelation, 3:20, Jesus again makes the statement, HE IS THE WAY- “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me” Open the door and SEEK HIS WAY out! Amen!

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in times of trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth is transformed and the mountains are toppled into the depths of the seas, though their waters roar and foam and the mountains quake in the surge. The LORD of Hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. – Psalm 46:1-3, 11 BSB

Warrior;
It was A.W. Tozer’s classic book, ‘The Knowledge of the Holy’, opens with the famous quote, “What comes into our mind when we think about God is the most important thing about us.” Tozer posits that our view of God—what we believe God is like in the deep recesses of our being—shapes the whole course of our lives. Our lives can be defined in regards to a single concept, “Who is God to you”, or even, “What kind of God do you serve?”. This is similar to the question that Elijah confronted the people of Israel within 1 Kings 18:21: And Elijah came near to all the people and said, “How long will you go limping between two different opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him; but if Baal, then follow him.” And the people did not answer him a word. (1 Kings 18:21) Who is God to you? What kind of God do you serve? Elijah confronts the evil king Ahab and challenges him to a ‘Battle of the Gods’. The king was to have all Israel gather at Mt. Carmel, along with the 450 prophets of the false god Baal and the 400 prophets of the false goddess Asherah The people were not sure WHO THEIR GOD WAS, what type of God He was. Elijah then challenged the prophets of Baal to prepare a bull as an offering for their god—Elijah would do the same—with this catch: they could light no fire on their altar. The God who answered with fire from the sky would be considered the true God. Elijah knew who HIS GOD WAS. Elijah knew what kind of God he served. This is the reason for all of Elijah’s theatrics. Read 1 Kings 18 to see how GREAT OUR GOD IS! It is our view of God that dictates our FAITH! The bigger view of God, the greater our Faith. The lesser view of God, the smaller our faith and our fruit!

Leader, once the sacrifice was ready, Elijah prayed, “Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, let it be known today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and have done all these things at your command. Answer me, Lord, answer me, so these people will know that you, Lord, are God, and that you are turning their hearts back again” (1 Kings 18:36–37). Then God did what King Ahab’s god could never do: the fire of the LORD fell from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the wood and the stones and the dust, “and also licked up the water in the trench”. The people of Israel bowed down and declared Jehovah, Yahweh- Elijah’s God, as their God. Here is how Tozer opens his wonderful work, “The knowledge of the Holy’: “What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us. The history of mankind will probably show that no people has ever risen above its religion, and man’s spiritual history will positively demonstrate that no religion has ever been greater than its idea of God. Worship is pure or base as the worshiper entertains high or low thoughts of God.” In studying the manner patterns of effectual prayer, I believe it is critical in the beginning to first establish who God is, then our problems seem smaller. When we acknowledge God as the author of the universe and the author of our Faith, then our problems don’t seem that extreme. When we put our focus on our problems, they seem so BIG. However when we focus on OUR BIG GOD, if that is how we see Him, then our problems seem mighty small compared to THE ONE who put the stars in the sky and name them. (Genesis 1:17, Isaiah 40:26) What problem could be too big for the GOD who laid out the foundations of the Earth (Job 38:4), and who knows the number of hairs on our head! (Matthew 10:30)

Conduit, In the Old Testament there are 16 names given for the ONE TRUE GOD. Some of these names are compound names. They attach ‘WHAT’ God does, to ‘WHO’ God is! There is no better way to discover what God is like than to look at His names. When we see WHAT God does for those WHO LOVE HIM, and who are CALLED according to HIS PURPOSE- what can separate us from our ABBA, DADDY, PAPA? Here are the 16 names from the Old Testament. Meditate on what these names mean, and what they mean for one who KNOWS HIM AS GOD, who is HIS CHILD, HIS BELOVED, HIS CHERISHED PRIZE. El Shaddai (Lord God Almighty), El Elyon (The Most High God), Adonai (Lord, Master), Yahweh (Lord, Jehovah), Jehovah Nissi (The Lord My Banner), Jehovah Raah (The Lord My Shepherd), Jehovah Rapha (The Lord That Heals), Jehovah Shammah (The Lord Is Present), Jehovah Tsidkenu (The Lord Our Righteousness), Jehovah Mekoddishkem (The Lord Who Sanctifies You), El Olam (The Everlasting God), Elohim (God-plural), Qanna (Jealous), Jehovah Jireh (The Lord Will Provide), Jehovah Shalom (The Lord Is Peace), Jehovah Sabaoth (The Lord of Heavenly Hosts). How you See God, WHO you believe GOD is- will dictate what type of FAITH you have! I am not just talking about LITTLE FAITH, or GREAT FAITH- I am talking about ACTIVE FAITH, or a passive faith to a God that others talk about! The only way to make sure GOD KNOWS YOU, is to seek God, to DESIRE GOD…to KNOW GOD! “We are Messengers’ has a new song called, “The God You are”. In this beautiful praise and worship chorus, it is clear they know who GOD IS! “It’s in the empty tomb, It’s on the rugged cross, Your death-defying love, Is written in Your scars, You’ll never quit on me, You’ll always hold my heart- Cause that’s the kind of God You are.” I pray that we all GROW to KNOW THIS GOD!

When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in his spirit and greatly troubledy. And he said, “Where have you laid him?” They said to him, “Lord, come and see.” Jesus wept. So the Jews said, “See how he loved him!” – John 11:33-36 ESV

Warrior;
How about you? Are you like Jesus, do you WEEP when you WALK in this world? John 11:35 is the shortest verse in the English bible; JESUS WEPT! Luke 19:41- But as he came closer to Jerusalem and saw the city ahead, he began to weep. In Isaiah 53:3 Jesus is described NOT as a care free Savior, but as a MAN who HURT: He was despised and rejected— a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care. Is this your experience on this planet, or do you fit in pretty well? Are you more like JESUS or PHARISEE?

Leader, the question is, “Why did Jesus weep?” He was getting ready to raise Lazarus to His glory. The WORD says he was DEEPLY moved in HIS SPIRIT AND GREATLY TROUBLED! Jesus wept because He feels our pain- He HURT because Mary and Martha hurt- so HE WEPT. And HE WEPT, because they STILL DIDN’T BELIEVE! They said they did, but they DID NOT BELIEVE that Jesus was the SON OF GOD and the PURPOSE FOR CREATION! And how about Mary’s anger toward Jesus? It was Mary who took a pint of pure nard, an expensive perfume and poured it on Jesus’ feet and wiped his feet with her hair. (John 12:3) She goes from that public display of love for JESUS to an unwillingness to come out of her home and greet him! Like Mary, have you forgotten your first love?

Conduit, Greg Laurie says that, “Hope grows strongest in the GARDEN OF PAIN. Hope grows when things are hard, because that is when God comes through and shows you His Power and His glory. HOPE is an acronym: Holding Onto Patient Expectation.” We are to have HOPE that GOD’s promises are true! HOPE that IN HIM, there is nothing we can’t do. HOPE- that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. HOPE- that the same power that rose Jesus from the grave LIVES IN US! KEEP HOPE ALIVE: that one day soon… For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what he has done. (Matt 16:27) Amen!

September 10. 2021

So now it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells within me. For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out. For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells within me. – Romans 7:17-20 ESV

Warrior;

Are you in the FIGHT? Are you battle worn, or are you pretending there is no battle? Do you know your calling, do you know your word, do you know your way, do you know the WHOLE GOSPEL? If you are a CALLED OUT ONE, if you are part of the REAL ekklesia, then you are in a war. The word “church” is translated from the Greek ekklesia, meaning “called-out” or “assembly.” The “church in the wilderness” consisted of those called out of physical Egypt; the New Testament church are those called out of the spiritual Egypt of false belief and practice dominating this world. Without this knowledge, it is extremely difficult to understand that we are in a battle and if you don’t understand you are in a battle, then you are not carrying yourself in battle mode. If you are not aware, and acting AS IF, you are in a battle, then you are USELESS to be used by GOD and you are useful to the enemy to keep others from the same realization. The true Follower of Jesus Christ knows we are in a battle and understands that the BATTLE IS THE LORDS! This was one of the key understandings needed by those who were CALLED OUT FROM EGYPT to go to the land of PROMISE! Hear the Word of the Lord: And Moses said to the people, “Fear not, stand firm, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will work for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall never see again. The LORD will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.” The LORD said to Moses, “Why do you cry to me? Tell the people of Israel to go forward. Lift up your staff, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it, that the people of Israel may go through the sea on dry ground. (Exodus 14:13-16)

Leader, the TRUE FOLLOWER of Jesus Christ has many battles, however they are truly GOD’S BATTLES, that are waged within each believer and without each follower. If you are a true believer then you have 3 enemies: The World, the Flesh, and the Devil. These enemies have access through the Lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh and the PRIDE OF LIFE! Hear the Word of the Lord: Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever. (1 John 2:15-17) This might sound scary or overwhelming, but it SHOULD NOT, because our God is a WARRIOR GOD, He fights for us, and we FIGHT FROM VICTORY! Notice even though we know the outcome- see Revelation 21, 22, we STILL FIGHT- THE GOOD FIGHT! We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one. (1 John 5:19) The LORD is a man of war; the LORD is his name. (Exodus 15:3) The LORD goes out like a mighty man, like a man of war he stirs up his zeal; he cries out, he shouts aloud, he shows himself mighty against his foes. (Isaiah 42:13) Do you ever find yourself doing what you know you shouldn’t? You are in good company because so did the Apostle Paul. Today’s verse shows you his similar struggle. However, just as Paul fought from Victory, so do we. So, if you’ve got a battle, then you’ve got a choice- and you are in the GAME. You can either stand still and trust that God will fight for you, or you can freak out and possibly make it worse. Sometimes we just need to get out of the way and get under God’s will and then watch Him bring victory. When we choose KNOW His Word, we can then KNOW His will and this allows us to be still. Then and only then, we do begin to know, I mean really know, that He is God. One of the best parts of really knowing that He is God is knowing that WE ARE NOT. Like the Israelites in the Exodus, let us lay down our weapons and battle plans and be still, until He tells us to CHARGE, blow the SHOFAR, STOP, TURN, run, walk…trust in Him and His power and grace.

Conduit, we must READ the entire Gospel, not just half of it. We need to allow Jesus to be FULLY God and FULLY man. We must allow for the WHOLE GOSPEL, not just the half we life. We must allow for the LION from the Tribe of JUDAH, not just the LAMB OF GOD! The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but the victory belongs to the LORD. (Proverbs 21:31) “The LORD will cause your enemies who rise against you to be defeated before you. They shall come out against you one way and flee before you seven ways. (Deuteronomy 28:7) Paul speaks in many warrior metaphors. Paul understood the battle when he says in Romans 8:1-10 that the Spirit is God’s work, not yours. So while we are to listen to the Spirit, it is God who does that work. Paul teaches that the Holy Spirit is in all Christians, and that God places the Spirit within us. However, as we all know from experience and as Paul describes it in today’s verse. While we are in this life there will be a war within us between the two. Consider Jesus became incarnate to wage this war in us, through us and for us! And he said, “Listen, all Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem and King Jehoshaphat: Thus says the LORD to you, ‘Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed at this great horde, for the battle is not yours but God’s. (2 Chronicles 20:15) Consider Jesus’ own words; “I have come to set the world on fire, and I wish it were already burning! I have a terrible baptism of suffering ahead of me, and I am under a heavy burden until it is accomplished. Do you think I have come to bring peace to the earth? No, I have come to divide people against each other! From now on families will be split apart, three in favor of me, and two against—or two in favor and three against. ‘Father will be divided against son and son against father; mother against daughter and daughter against mother; and mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law.’” Then Jesus turned to the crowd and said, “When you see clouds beginning to form in the west, you say, ‘Here comes a shower.’ And you are right. When the south wind blows, you say, ‘Today will be a scorcher.’ And it is. You fools! You know how to interpret the weather signs of the earth and sky, but you don’t know how to interpret the present times’. (Luke 12:49-56) What time is it? The Time is NOW- to fight the good fight. Quit wanting to be liked by the world, fit in with the world, and explain to the world about a God that they mock and want no part of! The Time is NOW to know that GOD IS FIGHTING FOR YOU, with you and on behalf of you! Soldier on!

But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and behold, he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him. See, I have told you.” So they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples. And behold, Jesus met them and said, “Greetings!” And they came up and took hold of his feet and worshiped him. ”- Matthew 28:5-9 ESV

Warrior;
Now that Christ has Risen…what do you do with HIM and with yourself? What difference does it make that CHRIST has risen? Does it impact your life, beyond EASTER SUNDAY? Now that you have RISEN with HIM, what is your PURPOSE? Now that we have been SAVED, it is time to SERVE! GOD is a purpose driven ABBA, He has a reason for everything. The prophet Isaiah reminds us of the chasm of reason between us and God: “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the LORD. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:8-9)

Leader, the time is now to ENJOY, ENCOUNTER and EMULATE the Risen Christ. The lyrics of the great hymn, ‘Enjoying the Risen Christ’, is the only way to bring Glory to God and JOY to the slave! “I serve a risen Savior, He’s in the world today; I know that He is living, Whatever men may say; I see His hand of mercy, I hear His voice of cheer, And just the time I need Him He’s always near. He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today! He walks with me and He talks with me Along life’s narrow way. He lives, He live, salvation to impart! You ask me how I know He lives: He lives within my heart.” Now that we ROSE with JESUS it is time to let JESUS LIVE through us. My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20)

Conduit, it is that knowledge, that CHRIST is guiding, living, working His will and HIS way through me, that I can truly find the PEACE of God that surpasses all understanding! “When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought joy to my soul.” (Psalm 94:19) If you are LIVING for CHRIST, then this world is DYING to STOP YOU! Peter told us this clearly; Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. (1 Peter 4:12) As you face your own challenges in life, always keep in mind that Jesus has the power to fix any problem you’ll ever come across. Before you jump in and make things worse by taking matters into your own hands, remember the story of Peter! (John 18:10-11) The next time you’re tempted to “grab a sword and start swinging,” take a few minutes to remind yourself that Jesus can handle the problem without your intervention. Before you do anything else, pray and ask the Lord what you are supposed to do. Then after you receive your answer and follow His instructions, just watch His supernatural power swing into action to solve the dilemma you are facing! No shared Glory!

The 2 main players in our experience called life. In years of working with Leaders across the spectrums of business, socio-economies and Faiths, I have learned a simple truth; ‘Nobody responds to reality, we respond to our perception of reality”. Our perception is greatly influenced by the frames through which we view, or experience our world. Tune into LIM Radio for an hour of power as Mr. Black and guests discuss; The Framers.

September 8. 2021

But now thus says the LORD, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. – Isaiah 43:1-3a ESV

Warrior;
This is our God, our DADDY- ABBA God! When my children wake up from a nightmare, DADDY, or MOMMY comforts them; “It’s ok, it’s just a dream. Daddy IS HERE to protect you, it’s ok- FEAR NOT.” This is our compassionate Father God. God is ALL things, and to those that LOVE HIM, SEEK HIM and SERVE HIM- He says FEAR NOT. Jehovah IS OMNI-powerful, OMNI-knowing, and OMNI-present; the first part of the word is omni-. That means ALL, of all things, in all ways, in all places. Omnipotent, Omniscient and Omnipresent. The term “omnipresence” is borrowed from Latin. It is a compound of omni, meaning “all,” and ‘praesens’, meaning “here.” Thus, God is always here, close to everything, next to everyone. A. W. Tozer posits that fewer truths are so clearly taught in scripture. Indeed, the scriptures teach us that even the highest heavens cannot contain God (1 Kings 8:27). God sits above time, we are IN TIME. God can be in yesterday, tomorrow, and today- He is not bound by the dimension of time.

Leader, in Psalm 139:7-10 the psalmist makes this point: “Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast”. Our God is JEHOVAH SHAMAH, the God who is present! Isaiah was written about 760 Before Christ (BC). Even the world knows God split time in 2; Before and After; B.C and A.D. God is telling people today, “I GOT THIS”. One way he does that is that He tells us to RE-MEMBER (put it back together) that I have been there in the past, and I AM here today, and I will be there tomorrow- for He is the PRE-EXISTENT ONE! See John 8:57–58. Isaiah 43:2 wants HIS PEOPLE to fear not by reminding them of what He did at the Red Sea, 500 years earlier, with around 2 million people: Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD swept the sea back by a strong east wind all night and turned the sea into dry land, so the waters were divided. The sons of Israel went through the midst of the sea on the dry land, and the waters were like a wall to them on their right hand and on their left. (Exodus 14:21-22) GOD wants His children to REMEMBER he did it again when they crossed the Jordan in flood season and entered the promise land: see Joshua 3:15-18:… But as soon as the feet of the priests who were carrying the Ark touched the water… the priests who were carrying the Ark of the LORD’s Covenant stood on dry ground in the middle of the riverbed as the people passed by. God is saying, “I’ve done it before, and I’ll do it again- FEAR NOT”.

Conduit, God goes from past performance to future preparation in Isaiah when he says you shall walk through the fire, and you shall not be consumed. God wrote this so that in 200 years three young men would stand up to the RULER of the WORLD at that time, the ruler of Babylon the Great, Nebuchadnezzar. The three Hebrew boys refused to worship the gods of this world and were questioned about this by the King: Nebuchadnezzar said to them, “Is it true, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, that you refuse to serve my gods or to worship the gold statue I have set up? (Daniel 3:14) At this time, the book of Isaiah was out, and these faithful followers of God would have not only known it, but most-likely have it memorized and because they REMEMBERED what God had said, 200 years earlier, through the prophet Isaiah, their retort was BOLD: If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God whom we serve is able to save us. He will rescue us from your power, Your Majesty. But even if he doesn’t, we want to make it clear to you, Your Majesty, that we will never serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up.”(v 17-18) And they were thrown into the Fire, and there too was God-for He is OMNIPRESENT: Then King Nebuchadnezzar was astonished and rose up in haste. … “Did we not cast three men bound into the fire?” … “But I see four men unbound, walking in the midst of the fire, and they are not hurt; and the appearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods.” (v 24-25) Trust in the LORD and FEAR NOT for our GOD IS WITH US! A FINAL WORD: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.
