Listen to me, all you in distant lands! Pay attention, you who are far away! The LORD called me before my birth; from within the womb he called me by name. He made my words of judgment as sharp as a sword. He has hidden me in the shadow of his hand. I am like a sharp arrow in his quiver.- Isaiah 49:1-2 NLT
Warrior;
It is written; For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11) Our God is OMNI! God is everywhere- omnipresent, God knows everything- omniscient, God is all powerful- omnipotent,, and God is source of everything good- omnibenevolent, and God has all good intents and purposes in all things He does- omnitelic. If omniscience is the ocean of knowledge, omnitelic is the current that directs the ocean’s flow, not random, but purposeful, moving all things toward God’s ultimate end. Omnitelic is a beautiful neologism: God is not only infinite in power, presence, and knowledge, but also in purpose. Every act, every allowance, every silence is saturated with divine intentionality. In other words, God is in control- He has got this! Isaiah 49:2 gives us one of the most powerful identity statements in all of Scripture: “He made my mouth like a sharp sword. He made you\me a polished arrow; in His quiver He holds us.” This is not poetic fluff. This is divine commissioning. God is revealing what it means to belong to Him. We are not to be passive believers, but as offensive weapons in His redemptive mission. Consider what you use a sword for, close combat. An arrow is for long range impact. Both are instruments of precision, intention, and authority. When God calls US a polished arrow, He is saying: “I have shaped you. I have refined you. I have aimed you. And when the time is right, I will release you.” Just like everything else with Abba Daddy, God’s timing is perfect!
Leader, consider this: Arrows don’t launch themselves. They wait in the quiver; hidden, protected, prepared- BUT GOD…until the Warrior draws them out. We serve a dualistic God! He is the Prince of Peace, and He is also a Warrior! Hear the word of the Lord: “The LORD is a warrior; The LORD is His name. The LORD will go forth like a warrior, He will stir up His zeal like a man of war; He will shout out, yes, He will raise a war cry. He will prevail [mightily] against His enemies. For I lift up My hand to heaven and declare: As surely as I live forever, when I sharpen My flashing sword, and My hand grasps it in judgment, I will take vengeance on My adversaries and repay those who hate Me. I will make My arrows drunk with blood, while My sword devours flesh- the blood of the slain and captives, the heads of the enemy leaders.” (Exodus 15:3, Isaiah 42:13, Deuteronomy 32:40-42) When God says He has his arrows ‘hidden’, that hiddenness is not punishment; it is formation. God hides what He values. He conceals what He intends to use strategically. And when He sends you, it is because the battle requires your shape, your voice, your trajectory. We are a polished ARROW in the Hand of Yahweh- it is our calling! John the Baptist, Elijah, Elisha, Nathan, Samuel and Isaiah, all OFFENSIVE WEAPONS in the arsenal of the Ancient of Days! It is written: And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.” (Isaiah 6:8) This is why Isaiah’s cry in Isaiah 6:8 matters so deeply. The Hebrew Word here is chapter 6v 8 is Hineni: “Here I am- fully present, fully available, fully yielded.”! “Hineni, Here I am. Send me.” Hineni is not passive availability. It is warrior readiness. It is the heart of someone who has already surrendered the outcome. It is the cry of a weapon saying to the Warrior, “I am Yours. Aim me where You will.”
Conduit; Isaiah 49:2 also reveals that God shapes our mouth like a sword. This is not about aggression; it is about truth. The Word of God in our mouth becomes a cutting edge that pierces lies, dismantles darkness, and brings freedom. Hebrews 4:12 says the Word is “sharper than any two-edged sword,” and Revelation 19:15 shows a sword coming from the mouth of Jesus Himself. Warriors in the Kingdom fight with truth, not violence. And here is the beauty: God does not just shape you; He aims you. Ephesians 2:10 says He prepared good works in advance for you to walk in. You are not random. You are not accidental. You are crafted, carried, and commissioned. Today, stand in your calling with confidence. You are an ARROW in the quiver of Yahweh! Are you WILLING and are you AVAILABLE? What if?: You are a polished arrow in the quiver of Yahweh. You are a Warrior shaped by His hand. You are a voice sharpened by His Word. And when He sends you, you will fly straight, strike true, and accomplish what He intended. What if each day we started with those words, “Hineni. Here we are, Lord. Send us”? If we look at our earthly Warrior King- David, we see some great things. David won battles because he had warriors who could fight; however, he kept the kingdom because he had warriors who could discern. The best of his warriors were from a tribe called Issachar. The Tribe of Issachar were Warriors Who Knew What Time It Was! Hear the Word of the Lord; And of the children of Issachar, which were men that understood the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment. (1 Chronicles 12:32) God is talking about strategic intelligence, prophetic awareness, and spiritual timing. Issachar wasn’t the biggest tribe, they weren’t the flashiest, but they were the ones who could tell time, who could understand, the moment, the movement, the momentum, the mind, or the will of God! “This is the moment to move. This is the moment to wait. This is the moment to strike.” David’s kingdom needed warriors with swords, but it survived because he had warriors with discernment. God is looking for some great warriors, for such a time as this! Are you willing, are you available? The Times is Now to fight your GOOD FIGHT! Soldier on, we are almost home!
