God also told Moses, “I am the LORD. I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob as God Almighty, but by My name the LORD I did not make Myself known to them. I also established My covenant with them to give them the land of Canaan, the land where they lived as foreigners. Furthermore, I have heard the groaning of the Israelites, whom the Egyptians are enslaving, and I have remembered My covenant.Therefore tell the Israelites: ‘I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians and deliver you from their bondage. I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment. I will take you as My own people, and I will be your God. Then you will know that I am the LORD your God, who brought you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. And I will bring you into the land that I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. I will give it to you as a possession. I am the LORD!’”- Exodus 6:2-8 BSB
Warrior;
According to 2 Timothy 3:16-17, the Bible states it is “God-breathed” and profitable for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that believers may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. It serves as a guide for salvation, wisdom, and spiritual growth, acting as a “lamp to my feet, and a light unto my path”. (Psalm 119:105) Peter expressed the same concept in 2 Peter 1:21. “For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.” These direct statements of the inspiration of the Bible are confirmed by dozens of references throughout the Old and New Testaments. The Bible is “the Word of God” and “OUR WORDS” to live by. This is an assertion made in various ways over one hundred times in the whole of the Bible. In the New Testament, whenever Christ and the apostles quoted the Old Testament, they cited it as absolute authority and often indicated that the writers of Scripture had been guided in what they wrote by the Spirit of God. We find illustrations of this in Matthew 22:43–44 and in frequent quotations of the Old Testament in the New Testament. In Acts 1:16 Peter said, “Brothers, the Scripture had to be fulfilled which the Holy Spirit spoke long ago through the mouth of David concerning Judas.” (Psalm 109:8) The Bible is an acronym, it stands for; Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth. It is an INSTRUCTION book to help on our fleshly journey, that we Spiritual Children of God are taking in this KAIROS. It is a book of Instructions, and it has Patterns, it has TYPOLOGY, it has SHADOWS and SUBSTANCE- hidden meaning that points to deeper patterns. It is an OWNER’S manual, and a guidebook. It is a book of guidance, and direction, and it contains the ultimate GOOD NEWS- the creators plans revealed! There is a God and He loves His creation enough, that He has a plan to have all His children, serve with HIM and rule over His creation.
Leader, within that plan of God is the same four‑step redemptive pattern: We see it for the first time here is Exodus 6:6-7, and it is all throughout the entire Bible: I will bring you out, I will deliver you, I will redeem you, I will take you as My people. This is the architectural spine that runs through Exodus, to Passover, to the Last Supper, to the Revelation. It is the single redemptive rhythm God uses to form a people, save a people, and ultimately unite with a people. Here in Exodus 6:6-7 we see the original ‘Fourfold Redemption’- this is the blueprint: 1. “I will bring you out”. He first separates- God removes Israel from Egypt’s environment. 2. “I will deliver you”. He then liberates- God breaks the power of the oppressor. 3. “I will redeem you”. God purchases us, he redeems His people- God buys Israel back with blood and power. 4. “I will take you as My people”. He now creates His ‘Covenant Union- God forms a covenant relationship with His people, here it is with Israel. This is the redemptive arc, that is layered throughout the Bible, and that becomes the foundation of all future salvation. This is what the celebration of Passover is all about: The Four Cups are a typology of this Liturgical Embodiment of this Pattern. Rabbinic tradition turns the four verbs into four cups, making the redemptive arc a ritual memory. Cup 1; Sanctification. Covers step 1: “I will bring you out.” God separates His people. Cup 2; Deliverance (or Judgment): “I will deliver you.” God breaks oppression. Cup 3; Redemption. “I will redeem you.” God redeems with blood. Cup 4; Praise-Acceptance. “I will take you as My people.” God forms a covenant union. This is what the Passover celebration became. A way to look back at what God did for the Israelites as He removed them from the World, and brought them into His Kingdom.
Conduit, the Passover celebration became the annual reenactment of the Exodus arc. It was a look back at the beginning of the journey from the World to the Kingdom, from Egypt to the Promised Land. BUT GOD! That all changed with Jesus. JESUS split time in two! Jesus Christ is the hinge of human history. Time itself bends around His life, death, and resurrection. Humanity measures history as: B.C., Before Christ and A.D., Anno Domini (“In the year of our Lord”) Not “After Death,” even though that phrase has been used popularly. The actual Latin phrase is even more powerful: A.D. = “In the year of our Lord.” Meaning that every year after the incarnation belongs to Him- Every year after His resurrection is under His reign- Every moment after His victory is marked by His Lordship. Jesus didn’t just split time at His death. He split time at His arrival, His incarnation, His cross, and His resurrection. He is the axis of history. The fulcrum of time. The center point of the human story. Jesus did it again at the LAST SUPPER! Hear the Word of the Lord; When the time came, Jesus and the apostles sat down together at the table. Jesus said, “I have been very eager to eat this Passover meal with you before my suffering begins. For I tell you now that I won’t eat this meal again until its meaning is fulfilled in the Kingdom of God.” Then he took a cup of wine and gave thanks to God for it. Then he said, “Take this and share it among yourselves. For I will not drink wine again until the Kingdom of God has come.” He took some bread and gave thanks to God for it. Then he broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” (Luke 22:14-19) At the Last Supper, Jesus does something that only the CHOSEN ONE, the MESSIAH could do: He takes the Passover meal, the most backward-looking feast in Judaism, and He turns it forward. He says: “Do this in remembrance of Me.” This is not a small liturgical tweak. This is a cosmic reorientation. Jesus steps into the Passover structure and fulfills each cup. Cup 1- Sanctification; Jesus sets His disciples apart: “You are not of the world.” Cup 2- Deliverance; Jesus declares deliverance from sin’s power: “Now the ruler of this world is cast out.” Cup 3; Redemption; This is the cup Jesus lifts: “This cup is the new covenant in My blood.” He fulfills “I will redeem you.” Cup 4-Covenant Union; Jesus refuses the fourth cup: “I will not drink again… until the Kingdom comes.” He postpones “I will take you as My people” until the end of the age. The Last Supper is the Messianic fulfillment of the Exodus pattern, but the final step is held for the future. This Resurrection Day LOOK UP! For our redemption is NEAR. Jesus is preparing for the Completion of the FOURFOLD ARC of REDEMPTION! Maranatha!
