This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, – 1 Timothy 2:3-5 ESV

Warrior;

There is a tremendous difference between having gnosis (knowledge) and epignosis (wisdom). Epignosis is about applying and metabolizing doctrine. Epignosis is the critical piece in our deepening spiritual walk. It allows the BIBLE- THE WORD OF GOD to come alive, and become REAL, Real instruction and real personal!  When we go beyond the mere formation of the sentences and get to the meaning and the application- it changes us.  This is why it is written “the word of God is living and active”. (Hebrews 4:12) 2 Timothy 3:16, says that “all Scripture is God-breathed”. The Word is Living and Active. The dynamic nature of God’s word is demonstrated by comparing it to a sharp, double-edged sword that can penetrate deep into a person’s thoughts and intentions. This verse highlights the word’s ability to not only inform but also to judge and transform individuals- because it is from God, it is GOD! Logically and Scripturally, Jesus is the BIBLE.  If you want to get to know JESUS, then you need to read, study, meditate on THE WORD so that you can KNOW JESUS.  The transitive principle says, If A=B and B=C, then A=C. Jesus is the Word of God. The Word of God is the Bible. Jesus is the Bible.

Leader, hear the WORD OF THE LORD; In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. (John 1:1-4) I heard a Pastor one time use the word METABOLIZE, we are supposed to ingest the word, to eat scripture! It is written; The voice said to me, “Son of man, eat what I am giving you—eat this scroll! Then go and give its message to the people of Israel.” So I opened my mouth, and he fed me the scroll. “Fill your stomach with this,” he said. And when I ate it, it tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth. (Ezekiel 3:1-3) The will of God for mankind is twofold. For the unbeliever, salvation, and for the believer- metabolized doctrine. It comes down to more than just knowledge! There are 2 words in Greek that are translated as ‘KNOW’. In Greek, gnosis, and epignosis both relate to knowledge, but they carry distinct nuances.

Conduit, gnosis refers to general knowledge or intellectual understanding. It is the accumulation of facts, information, or awareness about something. Gnosis can represent knowledge about God, doctrine, or spiritual truths, but it does not imply a deep, transformative experience. Epignosis, however, is a full, precise, and experiential knowledge. The prefix “epi-” intensifies the meaning, suggesting a deeper, more intimate understanding. Epignosis is often used to describe a personal, relational knowledge of God—not just knowing about Him, but truly knowing Him in a way that transforms one’s life. In Colossians 1:9, Paul prays that believers will be filled with the epignosis of God’s will, implying a knowledge that leads to wisdom and spiritual maturity. Similarly, in 2 Peter 1:3, epignosis is linked to the power of God that enables believers to live a godly life. It is about a relationship, not ‘book smarts’. Our Faith is not about WHAT we know.  Our Faith is about WHO we know! Gnosis is valuable, it brings about knowledge- it is a beginning. However, epignosis is essential for true spiritual growth- it is relational, applicable, it is a bi-product of a metabolized Word.  It is written, “You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and tremble.” (James 2:19) Demons know King Jesus.  In the Bible, the only group that always knew who Jesus was, were demons. Demons are fallen angels and will be in hell.  So that knowledge does not save them. There is a huge difference between knowing about God and having an intimate relationship with Him through His Word and our experience! It’s the difference between knowing facts about God and experiencing Him in a way that transforms your heart and mind. Today let us be mindful that mere accumulation of knowledge or information does not equate to understanding or wisdom. True knowledge and understanding come from a relationship with God and a commitment to His teachings. The Time is NOW to get to know the Savior and His Plan.  That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.”
